Seat moved after online checkin

So, hypothetically, if passengers who needed the bassinet seats (and were allocated those seats) subsequently changed flights or cancelled, then those seats would then be available for anyone to select?. Maybe someone else got lucky in the process? 🤷‍♂️

Which ones?

This one. Too crazy to even imagine.
It can be something as simple as an overworked check in agent not caring who they were moving to accommodate a need.

Edit: I was being sarcastic because I thought the question I was responding to was a joke. I consider serfty's reason to be the most probable. The other reasons, like someone with a baby stole the seats and then cancelled within the online check in period, or that the seat was broken so Qantas was being proactive and moved everyone booked in that seat on all flights in that aircraft was moved and the seat is now reserved for staff travel, I think are unlikely.

We moved flights once and took the bassinet seats from someone (had Bubs with us).

We subsequently then didn’t make the connection…! So those people bumped out would also have seen non baby carrying folk in their seats…

This was a while ago so not guilty for your flights :)

There was a huge scandal quite a few years ago (before Covid) of this exact situation happening. It went quiet after that as I think QF stopped bumping pax for P1/CLs. Hopefully that hasn’t started again.
They can bump for CL, but not P1. At least I've never heard of that.

We will never find out unless you know the person getting your seat.

P1 sometimes/occasionally? don't get their seat preference so that might be true

CLP1 friend says extremely rare to not get seat preference. But he is one of top10 P1 flyer apparently
CLPO is counted as a CL, not P1. The CL trumps the P1 part.

I've seen CLs bump people off a full flight before.

If any P1s have bumped others from their seats before, reply with a wink emoji 😂
