Seat selection at T-80

at T-80, it has much less to do with status and more to do with PCV.
I really respect your knowledge but when a Silver or Gold can get to row 4 at T-80 hours on a cheap ticket then I do not think PCV has much to do with it either.

It looks like it is a free for all.

Things can change

It may be that they have adjusted the weightings, etc. It seems the more SC you earn on QF directory the better the seating. I have noticed a difference since I begun to travel on JASA

I agree with John here. Seems like a real benefit would be to open up row 4 to WPs at T-80 and then SG at say T-48 and PS at T-24.

You said it a bit better than I did.

From where I am sitting it looks like it is a free for all. Serfty has a little more information at hand and perhaps is making a better assumption but I think the perceived benefit Platinum had stops at row 6 before T-80 hours and then free for all.

It is certainly not a free for all after T-80. But if you know what you're doing anyone can get row 4 on a 737. I've tried to tell you about this but you didn't seem interested.

No issues here selecting row 4 on a 738 at 80 hours out

Can pretty much always get 4A or 4F, however it's annoying that anyone can also pick those seats at that time

From memory even a bronze member can get row 4 at 80 hours ?

I don't worry about the picking, I just get allocated them....

When is the last time most people with QF status on here didn't select their own seats....?! Could be a good challenge! I'm kinda liking it for a change :)

I can't imagine!! lol tell us the trick John K:)
Come along to one of the AFF functions and someone will tell you. ;)

I'm not talking about tricking the seat selection system at all. Your loss.
I have your PM medhead! It is useful information and I am grateful but does not always work and in a way it is tricking the system but in a nice kind of way. ;)

I use the system exactly as it's designed to be used. ;) I'm not doing any funny keystroke combinations or anything like that. I just step through the process. Rather than tricking perhaps something else.

I also seem to get stuffed around by the WP1s. But I'd expect you have to deal with more of those than me. You also seem to change flights more often, whereas I try to stick to my booked flight. Of course I only have 2 flights to choose.

On Qantas I do not change that often. I do not usually get to the airport early enough especially out of SYD.

That being said I still seem to do quite OK with seat selection. What irks me is when my allocated is changed without being asked.
