Hi - trying to select seats for two travellers on fight BA1168 but website says can't be selected until 24 hours before flight?

Is there a way to advance choose seats so we can sit together

Thanks

Do you have BA or OW status at all?

From the BA Website:

Membership of the Executive Club, and equivalent oneworld partner frequent flyer programmes, includes seat selection at certain tiers:

  • Gold Members (oneworld Emerald) – free seat selection from the time of booking for everyone in your travel party (except on hand baggage only fares)
  • Silver Members (oneworld Sapphire) – free seat selection from the time of booking for everyone on your booking (except on hand baggage only fares and not including exit row seats on longhaul flights)
  • Bronze Members (oneworld Ruby) – free seat selection from seven days before departure for everyone on your booking (except on hand baggage only fares and not including exit row seats on longhaul flights)
  • Blue Members – free seat selection from 24 hours before departure when check-in opens (except on hand baggage only fares)

So unlike QF and some other carriers you don't get anything straight away. You can, if you so choose, pay for advance seat selection. Hope this helps :)

It shows the option to pay for selection for one leg of the journey (LHR-ZRH) but not the PVG-LHR. I'll call them up.

Lounges - if I'm flying J does that mean I can access the Business Lounge even though I'm not a oneworld sapphire member
