Is there any way to pre-select seats on Swiss Air flights outside of when online check-in opens?

Thanks, pw.

Couple of questions: J or whY? Do you have any *A status? Booked via airline or TA?

J. No status. Booked via TA (bestflights).

I bought a RTW fare, all *A flights, except one - which is on QF.

LX website isn't the most user friendly now is it

In the GDS we can definitely assign seats on LX flights so maybe check with the TA is they can assist, otherwise I would say give LX a buzz

LX uses its own reservation system. No seat reservations can be done online. You cannot access a swisss booking via checkmytrip or viewtrip.

You have to call them.

It is possible to get an Amadeus Filekey. Then you can access the booking via lufthansa.com and change seats. But be aware that those reservations often are not transferred into the LX system.

Rumours are that LX will offer ASR online in a few months.

Thanks for the replies.

I haven't called them yet.

Can I use Expertflyer (or something similar) to determine which seats are already taken? I don't want to ask for seats on the phone that are already taken.

Thanks, pw.

yes use expertflyer.com to create a seat alert and you will be able to see which seats are free.

then call them, i did this recently and they are very helpful out of of hong kong.
