Hi all,

I’m finding it impossible to select seats on upcoming flights to the US. It’s an AA booking, AA flight numbers but QF metal. My QFF number is on the booking.

Can’t book through AA manage my booking. Looks you can through QF MMB but it doesn’t stick.

Any tips? TIA

Call either AA or QF to assign the seat.

Use your QF booking reference on the Brittish Airways website, when you clik on the AA legs, it will show you the AA booking reference which is different. Then use the AA ref to selet your seats on the AA website. Worked for me.

Thanks all. I’ve already tried both booking refs on both websites - neither work. Qantas premium call centre said they couldn’t. Haven’t had any luck getting through.

SYD-LAX is on one of the old A380s. Would love to snag one of the F suites (they aren’t selling F…) Wonder if they would give that to a QF plat despite booking made through AA …

I actually booked a ticket on AA with QF metal flights (60% off compared to QF).
I had the exact problem yesterday.
Right after booking, I could choose the QF metal flight seat on the way back from the US but not from Australia.

No matter how I tried via AY/RJ/BA - I could not make it work as well as AA or QF manage my booking with the 2 PNRs.

AA's Twitter Account is very quick to help to put FF number but could not assign seats either.

Only solution was to call them and fixed in 10mns.

Speaking French, I called their US French number and my call was answered in 20 seconds and I got all the seats I wanted on QF metal flights. She told me there were only 12 agents speaking French for AA based in Argentina, Liverpool and Trinidad.

Anyway - I hope this helps.
If the WT is too long in English, PM me and I would be happy to call for you and get your seats assigned.

Hi @Thibault - thanks so much for your info and for the offer to call on my behalf. I got through without a wait on the US number (rather than the Australian one.) They were able to select seats on the SYD-LAX and LAX-SYD legs but had pretty shoddy availability of seats (I could see more on the Qantas app.)

I will have to try and sweet talk my way into one of the F suites at checkin 🤞

Rather than start another thread - i have some qantas flights booked with AA FF number.

In the past (some years ago) I could add those flights to "Manage my Booking" in my qantas login.

Whilst i can still see them in Qantas - they don't "stick" - and therefore i need to manually search each time.

Anyone know an easy way to load flights onto the qantas site?

as and FYI - i do use the Qantas App and have been able to add them all there.
