Hi all,

I am trying to book 2 rewards flights in business class from Brisbane to Japan for November 2025.

I am using seats.aero and struggling a little when it comes to actually seeing the equivalent on the airline sites. Is this common?

For example, I see this on seats.aero:

But when I move to Qantas I get this:

Screenshot 2024-11-28 at 7.48.37 am.png

It also doesn't really input the correct details into the Qantas search. I have to add them myself by cross-referencing the seats.aero info - not really what I saw when I watched the YouTube videos on this!

Any ideas on how to overcome this?

Thanks!

Also... 360 Days takes us to Nov 23rd, but the Qantas booking calendar only goes until 16th at this stage. How can get you get to those later dates if the calendar doesn't allow it?
Select the 16th and check flexible dates, and search. On the next page you will get an expanded calendar view all the way to the 23rd.

Wait until you find flights then transfer into the program that has availability.
Thanks. I did that on the weekend as I found BNE to KIX via HKG for 104k points in business one way (Cathay Pacific with QFF). Seemed like an okay deal...

Now I just have to get us home!!

Thinking of shooting for 2 seats in business class on ANA with my Velocity account (NRT/HND to BNE) but nothing seems to have opened up yet for November for them...

So I've discovered the seats.aero app enables accurate info a out the 2+ seat availability but the desktop version does not. You can have the exact same search filters and the app will filter out the unavailable options of 2+ seats when the desktop version does not.

So here I am... I have our BNE to KIX trip booked, but need to book NRT/HND to BNE in business in some way, shape or form for the 3rd week of Nov 2025.

And I am struggling...I can use either QFF or VA and I cannot find a thing.

I am happy to go via a large Asian city for a night or two for fun (eg Hong Kong, Shanghai) or go via Sydney or Melbourne, but I am lost. There is zero availability for 2 seats on business.

Any ideas?

If you have enough VFF points, you can look for availability on SQ Krisflyer (should be lots of availability via SIN at the cheaper 'saver' level) and then transfer your Velocity points over (at a rate of 1: 1/1.55). Assumes you have a KF account, of course.

You might also want to check when China Airlines (Taiwan based) opens up for QFF. Good business class.

There are some CX J awards from HKG to PER on 16,18/11 and MEL on 17/11.
Some SQ J awards from BKK via Sin to SYD,MEL and PER but not showing up from SIN. So check the VA site. I saw also some ANA J awards HND-SIN.
VA is only open until 11/11 but I note J awards SIN-BNE available on 8,10/11 but not on 11/11.
Via ADL on 6/11 to 9/11 and to PER on 6-8/11.

PS on the SQ site saver J awards are available SIN-BNE every day in November.

I have both KF and VFF accounts.

At the moment, I have 567k Amex points and I think its 1:3 transfer on KF (so 188k points) and 1:2 transfer on VFF (so 283k points). On that, I guess booking for VFF is more preferable? Unless I am missing something...

We are looking to fly out of Japan Nov 21-23 so I guess if VFF is not up to there yet, I just need to wait a couple of weeks.

I would LOVE to fly out on ANA to Singapore, then go SQ from Singapore to Brisbane, but not sure if we can swing that as I do need 2 seats.

Question for my own trip...I have a few notifications setup for EY for J or F redemptions with VFF before they leave VA next year.

I get notification for the various routes ive setup for the below;

Good news! We discovered availability for your alert "ETIHAD" with Virgin Australia Velocity in business class for MEL to AUH on 2025-05-29. This flight should now be visible and bookable in search results on the airline's website.

The available flight we found on that date was EY461, flying the routing MEL/AUH, for Business (I2), 104,000 points + $466.59 AUD.

Good luck and safe travels! This alert has now been deleted from our database.

However, each time i check for availability there is nothing there. EY only release to VA 30 days out? So how come im receiving notifications so far out??

Thanks very much. Perhaps Japan to Australia via Abu Dhabi is a little long! Singapore isn't too bad, albeit quite long. But I think Abu Dhabi might be too far lol

If planning to book on SQ (which you'd likley need to for certain awards), then the conversion is slightly better when done directly (by about 6K KF miles)
