Correct! Good observation skills!

These photos were taken when seated on the left hand side when seated on QF 63.

( When seated on QF 64 then the right hand side would be preferable for the better window views).

Some awesome pics there!

I do this route several times a year and have only managed to get similar views once or twice, generally in winter.

The 'A' side is definitely the side for views on the 63, however the 64 flies almost completely through the night until close to home, so little chance of ice views.

The configs are a lottery, although they are sending more and more of the refurbed birds over now, I've had it change several times within several hours prior to departure so wise to be prepared for last minute substitutions.

Flew 1a on QF63 in May and got glimpses of the circle through the intermittent cloud cover. If in J and have status try to nab 1K coming back

Just locked in 5B on QF63 28/12. Looking forward to it and the possible views of Antartica!

Nice! Whereabouts are you planning to spend NYE? I hear that Cape Town rocks for NYE, especially considering the spectacular back drop of Table Mountain too.

Here's a few more QF 63 photos from last year I thought I would add....the last photo is taken between Durban & Johannesburg in the final 40 minutes before landing.
