Security - what's the most senseless confiscation?

Despite having carried them through several international and domestic airports in previous days, I had 4 aerosols <100 ml (and all with caps) confiscated coming out of Caracas this year. When queried, the official pointed out the "flammable" symbol on the canisters - despite the fact that I had no lighter or matches. "Dismayed" would be an understatement as this would prohibit just about very aerosol....

the most senseless item that i had confiscated was a single condom that i had not realised was in my pocket (it WAS that old!!), the foil wrapper had set off the metal detectors...and the TSA agent pocketed the condom and refused to give it back...go figure...

The vintage of the confiscated condom may explain the proliferation of TSAs............
