Seeking advice on how to avoid jetstar

the travel company we use recommends against using Jet* as there are no refunds/credits at all whereas QF and VA allow this.

You'd better hope then, that your TA doesn't hear about the new JQ business bundle as it gives credits and fly ahead and fly behind!

I think you just need to catch a few JQ flights and then hope they are screwed up enough for your employer to accept the non reliability argument.

That may work to the OPs detriment as well. In the last year or so, I've been flying quite a lot with JQ and to honest, aside from some minor DYKWIA moments, I have trouble faulting them to any great degree (admittedly, I feel that has a high probability of change)!

Good news - work has booked me on VA both ways. I didn't need to provide any justification apart from the usual justification for travel. I do know that my boss also likes to avoid jet* so perhaps this helped.

The boss not wanting it is an excellent precedent.

Can anyone offer any advice on how I can avoid Jetstar on 27 December?

SYD-BNE for $139 + $9 for seat 10D + $1.25 booking fee + SYD F lounge access.

Struggling to come up with any airfare remotely close.

Padanttrity here but on a SYD - BNE QFd flight, and get SYD F lounge access???
Are you a CL person JohnK? Is that what you mean flying Au domestic flight and have an F lounge access.
Thought domestic JQ or QF do not have F lounges.

I suspect JohnK has found a JQi positioning flight... Most WPs here would be jumping on it

Yes Moa999, I have done 3 of those but he says he wants to avoid the JQ flight. Loved them domestic pax on an international flights while they existed.
Thought those flights disappeared with the dinosaurs.

Indeed I have found a JQi flight. First time for everything. Need to decide if paying $26 extra is worth the 10SCs and 800 QFF points and 20kg luggage. Probably not.

SYD-BNE for $36.87 plus 8,000/16,000 points for a Qantas classic award in Y/J? Seats might need to be released as a WP.

Ahh, indeed there is a flight giving domestic passenger on an international flight (JQ) on that day.
Just had a look myself.
Will keep this in mind for my own future reference, that those flights still do exist.

Jetstar domestic is far more comfortable than Qantas/VA's 737/A330, but yes it wont earn you VA status i guess

I don't think anyone on here will seriously agree with that. The A330 is well ahead of the JQ A320, the 737 v A320 is marginal at best.
