I'm seeking the cheapest fare from Sydney to Utah (Salt Lake City)for early September.
best dates would be departing on around the 7th and returning on the 13th or 14th however my dates are flexible,
I'm a member of both QF and Velocity frequent flyer schemes but don't have anywhere near enough points for rewards flights.
(8000 on QF and 11000 on Velocity)I'm not really bothered about flight times,I will travel whenever the cheapest seats are available.
Any help would be appreciated and finders fee paid.
Cheers

Just noticed the request.

You can do it with UA for AU$1420, DL for AU$1440, VA for AU$1570 and QF/AA for about AU$1850 all on the one booking.

Other options are UA to LAX for AU$1256 and is seems a standard USD190 return LAX/SLC with separate bookings.

Thanks you so much Serfty for your assistance,I will have a good think about both those options ,I need to book fairly soon so will make a decision in next day or so.
Thanks again for your valuable help-much appreciated.
Cheers

I looked at www.jetabroad.com.au ex AKL which had an airfare AKL/SLC of AUD1024.26 plus taxes 312.19 total AUD1,336.45 for routing AKL LA xSYD UA xSFO UA SLC then returning same way.

Not sure how many points you need to position SYD/AKL on VA & if 11,000 isn't enough for a SYD/AKL whether you can purchase top up points on VA. It may just be cheaper to purchase the best one way fare SYD/AKL.

Alternatively just AKL/LAX return comes in at AUD824.00 plus taxes 309.78 total AUD1134.18. As routing is via SYD both ways you could always ask to only be checked in to SYD then cancel the SYD/AKL sector.

I would have a look at prices ex SFO/LAX to see if adding this to the fare ex AKL is worthwhile also considering you would need to position oneway SYD/AKL also.
