Seemingly trivial reasons why you choose one hotel/airline/shop over another

Ah OK, I thought Virgin now included meals.
I mean you don’t want to actually eat what QF serves, but I guess as a matter of principle that’s irrelevant.

I was deciding which hotel to stay at on an upcoming trip and ended up going with one over the other because I really like the juicer they have at the breakfast buffet.

Businesses go to a lot of effort to market and differentiate themselves, but there must be so many other seemingly random reasons why people choose one café, or restaurant, or hotel, or hairdresser, or airline, or whatever else over another. What are some of your reasons?

In Japan, the closer to the train station the better!

When flying economy, I like airlines that have foot nets in Y.

On the Boeing 777, I also very seriously preference airlines using a 3-3-3 layout over 3-4-3.
 
There's a London hotel I book every year, where some rooms overlook the back of a row of tall terrace houses. All are extensively renovated except one crumbling old terrace house and I have somehow become invested in knowing that its elderly residents are still living there. I ask for a room on that side of the hotel and if I happen to spot them pottering about during my stay it makes me happy knowing that they are still in-situ.

I realise this makes me (sound like) a crazy person. 😂
 
I have avoid Qatar Airlines because I wasn't able to have a shower in their Doha Lounge in 2015.

This was due to the very small number of shower rooms all being booked out in the 90 mins I was in the lounge.
