Seen in the VA Brisbane lounge ...

That is not disgusting. She is just tired and needs to get her feet up.

That's what the public lounge is for. The private lounges are a facility for those to relax in a professional environment, there are standards for a reason.

Check out the adjacent empty chair that may have been a useful footstool.
You should know me a little better. I may or may not have used sarcasm.

I have no time for people who behave this way in public. Adjacent chair is not acceptable either.

And no I cannot look the other way for those who defend them.

Or just use a plate for your toast. How hard is it?

Probably more difficult than observing normal hygiene and etiquette of keeping ones dirty feet on the floor in public places, rather than displaying them on a table.

Personally I would object to this sort of behaviour in any cafe or restaurant or any place food is served.

As ever, YMMV.

The question remains. You can control your actions, you can't control the actions of others. Use a plate, it's really easy.

Then there is the definition of normal hygiene and etiquette habits. For me it is not normal to risk having my toast come into contact with a table top where someone might have rested their dirty feet. I normally use a plate for my food as part of my observation of normal hygiene practice. Clearly YMM does vary, since using a plate seems so difficult.

No, using a plate isn't difficult for most  and is it possible for the issue to be discussed without insults? What about kids? Sure adults should supervise but have readers never seen kids put their food down on the table, on purpose or accident, and then continue to eat it? A few germs may be good for the kid's developing immune system but sometimes its not as simple as "Use a plate, it's really easy."

Having a go at me doesn't change the fact that in civilised society, putting dirty feet on a table in a public space whether or not food is consumed is just not on. If I went to a restaurant, and the person next to me had their feet up on their table, filthy soles towards me, my thought process wouldn't be "Oh, that's OK, the next person at that table should use a plate, its not that difficult." If some-one came to my place and put their dirty feet up on the table while we were sitting around it, I wouldn't simply think "Oh, that's no problem, I'm eating off a plate anyway, its really easy."

There doesn't appear to be a plate under that pie in your Avatar though ...I can imagine oil from the crust leaking through that napkin and a stream of foot-germs climbing back up to the pie, and your mouth.
