Separately seeking upgrade!

Hi AFF! Really want to upgrade from econ to P econ on QF 093 Mel-lax. Have tried online but keeps getting declined. Is this because I got a cheap O fare? Any hints or suggestions to get around this greatly appreciated!

Sadly I expect AMEX / VISA is you only option to upgrade

Unless you get targeted by QF with an offer to upgrade from an ineligible fare bucket, the only option is to pay to change your fare bucket to an upgradeable fare bucket.

The only problem is that this doesn't guarantee you an upgrade.

Jacqui, do you have any status and frequent flyer points with Qantas? It has been known for Gold and Platinum flyers to be able to ring up and ask for an upgrade on an otherwise un-upgradeable fare.
