Shaving Cream - can or no can

Mach-3 etc are all "safety" type, never had an issue with carry-on.

No good for carry-on but the best shave cream/gel etc i have come across is L'Oreal Men Expert anti-irritation gel. It to me is miles better than most of the other ones you can get.

I love the QF F little can's for a quick weekend away. Pity i don't get many of them.

I generally prefer the gels to the foams/creams etc. and am using the same L'Oreal at the moment.

(and I did not realise they still made the Faulding cream - I started out my shaving career using that!)

I have taken to the "king of Shaves" oil.. only problem I find is that if I leave my face for a few days like over a weekend it tneds to be difficult to use, now I have added a bit of soap on those days.. Myabe slightly OTT, but I had an issue at Stanstead last year and needed a ziplock bag. They sell them in these little balls with like 5 in them. I have now taken to pre-packing my ziplock with all those items well before I leave home now and often re-pack the "little ball" ready for trips. I have never had a problem carrying my MACH3 on the plane ever the taht I can remember.

When I used to travel before 9/11 I had a duplicate set of toiletries/razor etc. sat in my travel bag at all times - made life a lot easier. Since the bag rule came I have done the same with cut down resources - even for domestic flights.

Isnt that sold in tubs of more than 100ml? Does it get caught in the liquids/gels rules?

Like others im a shaving oil convert. I use American Crew - comes in a LAG friendly 50ml size and is always (like everything else) enclosed in a ziploc bag so that it doesnt "mix" with other things. I generally shave at least every 2 days if not every day if need be and one bottle lasts me about 4 - 6 months. So at $25 od for a bottle its pretty good value i think.

May I ask where you pick up the American Crew Shave oil? I like their prducts and Have not seen that one yet here in UK or In Aust. Mind you the KoS one is about a 1/10th of the price. so hmm

The Wilkinson Sword 'blue' foam is a top-class product, if I could find this anywhere off a 'plane I'd buy it like a shot: I have searched the web, and I don't think its a sold product (wilkinson is part of some conglomerate) -If anyone has a link to it, or a rebadge, or comparable product I'd love to know (hint to Q: provide more. sell it.)

the Green stuff is stingy, nasty and I'd rather rub myself with a mouldy cheese-grater. But in a pinch, I do use it.

Since they stopped handing the stuff out, I raid the drawers in the lavvies. I try to be good and only take one can per leg. Do others also do this? I can't imagine anyone wanting to 'share' a can, I assume the staff restock?

Odd that some people don't like the blue soapy foam. goes to show its all personal choice. (the idea of smearing tractor oil on your face doesn't appeal so I have yet to try this stuff. I tried a gel, it was .. frankly bizarre, leaking off the hands before it reached the face and stripped the paint off my bathroom walls which was .. worrying)
