Shopping in Germany

A bit OT, but if you're flying into DUS, would you mind keeping an eye open for Vodafone (DE) pre-paid SIM cards, and letting me know if you spot any? I'll be flying into DUS in late September, and I need a new German SIM card; a Vodafone "CallYa" SIM looks to be the best fit for my needs. If I can't get one at DUS, I guess I'll worry about it a bit further down the track (literally; this trip will feature a lot of ICEs.)

Back on topic, I'm not really into shopping (I have a wife and daughter for that) but I did spend close to €100 on Schiller CDs at Saturn on my last trip. If you're into music from that part of the world, it's worth a visit.

With new rules coming in any sim bought in the EU will have to be recognised Ie cheaper sims bought say in Poland thru "Play" are only 2zl and dirt cheap to top up.

With phone and Internet !! ( Fast 4g) working in the entire EU

Luxury brands like "Lewis" Vuitton have normalised worldwide pricing pretty much on everything. (Chanel probably the same) Even with Tax Frei, it's not going to be significantly different to shopping in Australia and getting the GST back via TRS. Tax Frei come out at about 8% last time I used it, including that you have to pay a fee for the refund service.

Having said that if you're after a rare LV piece, like a Matisse pouchette. you might have a better chance in Europe.

BMW anyone?
Beer was $11 a litre Stine in 1999!

It's still about that now, outside Oktoberfest...

I thought the 500ml stubbies were around a couple of euro last time I was there. good pricing either way.
