Short transfer time at SIN (1h15m) QF9 to BA12 - Worth the risk???

In practice the responsibility seems to be borne by the ongoing carrier, in this case BA. (As to fiduciary responsibility and/or any charge back between airlines I know not.)

Whether they'll transfer you to another carrier or not is really a YMMV situation.

Thanks for the reply, I assumed this was probably the case.....

QF9 has settled down from its 2 hour delay issue and seem to more or less leave on time, but it does seem hit and miss.

PS Cant see how a missing passenger would hold a flight 2 hours......find bag and offload it....pretty simple really (even on an A380).

Obviously a 2 hour delay isn't anything to do with missing passengers, but they can make the delay longer, especially if they haven't showed at the new departure time. Also can take up to 30min for a bag to be offloaded, as it is all in containers which need to be off loaded then reloaded.

I thought this is what you meant.

I guess I am showing my frustration that their does not appear to be any explaination of delay on forums such as this or Qantas source, so I can at least gain some comfort that it was a one off.

Every time I have flown QF9 it has been delayed 30-60 minutes. the Flight stats also show this flight to be very unreliable.

If QF9 was significantly delayed, depending on how full, they may even carry you on to LHR on QF9. Not sure if it was delayed say 3-4 hrs, whether they try and move ex-SIN pax onto QF31(or QF1) or BA12 or BA 16, but if they did that would free up seats on QF9.

Well it was not worth the risk as QF9 was delayed over an hour, and even though I could have boarded BA12, they rebooked me on QF31. So now have missed my early connection to Stockholm and not another for 3 hours. So one cancelled meeting at least, and shortened 2 others.....

Sorry to read that - long way to go to cut meetings short.

IMO, always best to allow for the unexpected.
