Should I be concerned? [Qantas booking on LATAM]

I have made a business class booking on QFF for Latam flight LA805 SCL to MEL direct. The booking issued a error message at the end quoting a booking reference number and that I needed to call up to complete the booking.

Rang the call centre and was diverted to the Fiji team. The operator has assured me that she has sent all the details to the support team and I have nothing to worry about. So far I have a charge on my credit card for the taxes and a flight reference number that shows up on MA and BA but I can't seem to find any ticket number. The points have not been deducted from my account.

I was told to wait 24 to 48 hours for it to be resolved. There are still tickets showing for the business class flight (Aug 2025) but it is saying only a few seats left. Should I be concerned or do I relax and wait for them to resolve this?

If no points deducted and no ticket number then it is likely as you indicate.

To double check, the Finnair E-ticket tool which may send a copy of your itinerary to the booking's registered email address - this shows the fare buckets for each segment.

I'd wait 12 hours before calling again.

Thanks serfty. Checked the Finnair website and it can't find the booking. The booking shows up on BA, MA and RJ though.

I think I might need to call up and request the Latam booking reference number so I can go on the Latam app to confirm if there is a ticket number associated with the booking. Fingers crossed support are working on fixing the issue and I don't lose the flight.

The points could take days to be deducted from your account. QF will do this in their own sweet time. Just closely monitor receipt of the e-ticket.

I had a flight (AU to the US, return) where the points were never deducted. Everything else was in order.

When you look on the RJ manage my booking site does it show a ticket number starting with 081?

Lucky you!! Would have loved that to happen to me but the points have now been deducted.

I didn't notice it there originally but just checked it again and it is showing.

Looks like the Qantas agent was correct and the issue has now been resolved. Have had so much misinformation from them in the past so was sceptical but the booking is now showing in Qantas and I can now see the ticket reference number. Points have been deducted and taxes charged to my CC.

Thanks everyone for the help and guidance.

It would also be a good idea to go in and check APIS (make sure your DOB is in. Passport details can go in anytime prior to flying.
