Should QFF "Your Bookings" show Jetstar bookings?

Whilst different companies, I would have thought that it was smart to leverage the same IT in the back-ground to minimise cost?

Obviously I'm wrong.
JQ uses a different reservation system which I assume costs them less than QF's Altea and Amadeus systems. If they don't need the full features of those systems, then paying the licensing and operating costs is probably not justified for the benefits of integration between the two airlines.

Note that as posted by oz_mark, Qantas will show the segment under Amadeus as long as one segment is with Qantas.
Should be, but to book that way requires at least one segment to be on a QF flight.

Thank you both for your fast responses.

I agree. If my qantas frequent flyer number is on the booking, then, logically, I think it should show up on my QFF "your bookings".

Are you flying on JQ6xx_ domestic flight as part of your HNL trip? If so Qantas will have you in the system on the QFxx_ flight that will be taking you. Call them, give them your name and QFxx_ number, then aske them to add your QFF number to the booking. That will then show it in QF MMB.

Just remember though that what you see on QF MMB is info sectors only. Not the real booking.

Will be interesting to see (in the long run) how the announcement that interline agreements (baggage I presume) are planned for the OW group airlines (where it doesn't already exist).

My stance is simple - no OW miles no fly. Possible exception - a very reasonably priced Starclass fare (I still have a QF account). Of course, JQ does not fly *class to/from PER. Nor do I expect them to fly *class normally on domestic routes.

My November Jetstar booking to/from HNL does not show on my QFF "Your Bookings" page. When I try to add it using the reference number, QFF says I (my surname) am not the registered traveller with this booking number (have double and triple checked ref number against Jetstar confirmation.)

Sammy can you clarify the following questions first as that will help with a solution.

1. Was your booking done via the Jetstar website?
2. Are the flight numbers JQ or QF?
3. Whose metal are both flights on?
4. Are you using the JQ reference on QF “your bookings” page? QF will not recognise a JQ pnr.
5. You would only be able to add a QF ffn into a QF pnr and you would only have a QF pnr (Amadeus) if there was a QF sector in the booking.
6. If there is no QF pnr the only thing you can do is add the QF ffn into the JQ pnr.

Is there something wrong here or is there a basic incompatability between Jetstar bookings and the Qantas Frequent Flyer database. I definitely included my QFF number when initially booking the Jetstar Honolulu flights.

The frequent flyer number field in the Jetstar checkin system Navitaire (same set up as Virgin) does not support 7digit frequent flyer numbers. From memory when adding it into Jetstar reservations system Flightspeed you have to add two zeros in front of the number and one zero at the end so it must be an 10 digit field you need to populate eg.

If your QF ffn is 1234567 you would need to make it 0012345670 for it to be accepted by JQ. I'm fairly sure this is still the case, however some months back JQ had some kind of system 'enhancement' that affected the checkin system (some ports had to do manual checkin for a few days during cutover) so it's possible the format may be slightly different now.

I would call JQ reservations I'm sure they can add it in for you.

Lotsa luck!

Cheers
Oz
