Silver Membership Packs

If I remember it right, it was intentional that status matched Silver members only got the card in an envelope as opposed to the full pack.

My pack took two months to arrive, but I'd hit my date not long after the new card/packaging designs were rolled out so I'm guessing there was a bit of a back log.

Do people use the bag tags on their check in or carry on? Is it possible to request another one, so I can have one on each?

As an add on to this. On the silver benefits page on the Velocity website it specifically mentions personalised luggage tags so you can flaunt your lofty silver status around. All I recieved upon becoming silver was a card in an envelope. This was through the status match offer last year though. So I was wondering if only those who gain status through travel get the tags or is the web page wrong?
When I was status matched by Virgin to silver I didn't receive any tags. When I contacted them quoting their website they sent me one tag.

FWIW, both my silver and then gold packs took about 2 weeks to arrive, though the updated status was reflected on the website with in 72 hours.

Yes I use mine on both bags.

Give the call centre a call or send them an email explaining why you would like 2 and see what happens, they did used to supply 2 but I guess cost cutting has seen one removed. I am fortunate in that I have gone up and down the status totem pole a couple of times and have multiple Silver and Gold tags.

And in my experience it takes about 2 weeks for the kits to arrive.

Cheers
Dave.

Still kinda pointless on carry-on bags, RFID tag or no ;)

I have to agree to some point, there are times when said carry on will be checked, notebook bags no exception !

Not really, I have been given assistance on the ground by VA staff a couple of times and when I have asked "why me?" they indicated they spotted the bag tags.

I find it useful that I don't have to have my card out for priority screening and boarding with partners in the USA. A flash of the bag tag does the job and means you can concentrate on remembering where your passport and boarding pass are after a 15 hour flight!
