Hi Guys, Flying J in late feb and mid march.

I think there are multiple Silverkris / J lounges is that right? As in one in T2 and 1 in t3? Which one is better / which one should i use or just use the one that is in my own terminal / the terminal of the connecting flight?

The one in T3 is the "signature" SKL (for what it's worth). Much bigger and more variety of facilities.
This is due to T3 being SQ's "main" terminal - all their long haul international flights (as well as all their A380 flights) depart from and arrive into T3.

The T2 lounge is dire in my experience. You're better off in the excellent Changi facilities outside the lounge!

Best to use the lounge in the terminal you are departing from*, although if connecting from T3 to T2 it may not make much difference to pop into T3 lounge. The differential is not that significant to warrant dragging yourself from one terminal to another just to go a different lounge. Calling T2 dire is probably exaggerating a little, it's got some comfy seating areas, a variety of western and asian food, and a range of beverages - champagne often only on request. No views though. If you're not used to travelling with lounge access, perfectly acceptable.

* If departing from an F gate from T2, the T3 lounge is worth considering, as it is not far from the Skytrain. If going from a E gate, it's a fair haul between the T3 lounge and the gate.

maz1 you sure you not RooFlyer in disguise?

FTR any SQ flt can and do arr into T2 - even 380s -deps also from T2 dependent on traffic at time of dep - I have never dep T2 on a 380 though.

As mentioned above if plenty transit time try both T3 and T2 lounges - T3 much bigger but basically same amenities and F & B offerings

The one time I went to T2 lounge, there weren't 2 seats together anywhere, it was that busy. Also only scraps of food, again due to numbers. So my experience may not be typical.

Last visit to the T3 Silver lounge had me booking a transit hotel room for the return so I can get a proper shower without a queue outside the dodgey door snaking from the toilets to the lounge area,

T3 lounge was like a Sydney city bus stop with reduced services, crowded and noisy with a waiting queue for everything. The shower room was hot and very humid and the person standing outside the door could look in at a number of access points around the door. Very disppointing.

Yes J T3 can get busy but I have NEVER seen it as you describe.

I also have NEVER been in the Female amenities but I can guarantee every shower room in Male sections have full length doors so I assume Female section the same? How the hell can someone outside 'look in at a number of access points around the door' if doors are full height and door is closed?

And YES the shower rooms can get like saunas which Mgmt 'guarantee' me will be addressed in current upgrade

The door was off centre and didnt lock properly and had large gaps around the frame so yes, easy to look into and out through the gaps.

We arrived from Sydney and only had about 2.5hr transit, I was 3rd in line and when I finished there was at least 15 people waiting for a shower (and I didnt take long as it was so freaking humid).

On return we had 4hr transit so I happily paid for a hotel room to avoid the lounge and doing the same on our next transit.

Edit: Checked and it was SQ222, Sydney afternoon departure so arrived about 9.30pm Singapore time

Typically T3 lounges get very busy during late evening, with lots of European, Australian, Japanese and some Chinese departures. At this time of day T2 is much quieter. By contrast first thing in the morning T2 is very busy with lots of regional (SE Asia) departures.

Between 9am and 8pm both lounges shouldn’t be too crowded, although it peaks with certain departures.

Consequence: if you arrive from Australia during the evening and connecting to a flight departing around or after midnight and want a shower (or a peaceful lounge), make your way to T2!

So If I have a business / J class ticket, I can try both lounges on the same transit? As in i can walk in and out? I arrive From Sydney to Changi around 2pm and depart for Bkk around 5pm. and on my return journey I arrive from BKK to Changi around 7pm and depart around 12:30am. I am a pretty quick walker but how much time do i have to leave for moving from one Terminal to another. Flying J means they usually board you earlier right although i guess you can technically walk on board whenever you want once boarding has begun.

Yup, you can lounge hop and try any star alliance business class lounge you like (not just Singapore Airlines' lounges).

Oh Jeez, so i should probably figure out which ones i can get into then, although i just assumed being singapore airport that the singapore lounges will be the best?

Never done that (because Im boring and usually just hit the airline lounge) If you have SQ J boarding passes, what other lounges can you enter?

In Singapore it is a bit limited - there's only the Thai Airways lounge in addition to SQ's range. But at other airports you can have multiple choices... Bangkok for example you have TG, SQ, TK, BR.

I am in the SIN T2 SKL right now, and it is very quiet; maybe 25% full. This is a pleasant contrast to the T3 SKL which tends to be an overcrowded zoo most of the time IME. In my view, SIN T3 is far too big for a single SKL to be adequate;l it really needs multiple smaller lounges, a la CX at HKG.

Yes it needs a lounge at the B end of T3. (or near the EK lounge in T1, given SQ often use C1, C20 & C21 in T1 these days, and T1 would be closer than the current lounge is to gates B7-10 as well).

Is one able to find out which terminal they will arrive in and which terminal they will depart from weeks in advance or is that likely to change?
