And SKL J food offerings - again part thereof:

Above looks a bit like Tone Whocock and lawlesslass have given it a good goin' over!

I really did not feel like looking a complete tool and taking pics of all on offer - suffice to say food next to identical in both F and J - F has superior quality wines - spirits pretty much same - JW Black in both - F had JW Blue also and Hennessy - very little diff really.

F does have slightly better chairs etc - only slightly better.

TBH - food rather disappointing when you look hard at it really - still the Moet suits me fine - hope this helps.

=> lovestotravel - a few pics tell 1,000 words - currently sitting in SK F in MEL (J bp tucked in pocket too - ssshhhh)

What is this J you speak of? No F savers on 218? :p

There actually were - but 2 quite valid reasons for travelling J:

1. Have done SQ Suites / F maybe 30+ sectors over last 2 years or so - no big WOW factor anymore
2. I take sleeping tablet and sleep from go to whoa whether in F or J on 380/77W - extra 17K pts or whatever it is kind of a wastesimply for o/n flt - I think pts harvesting might become more and more difficult going forward so some prelim preservation might just be wise
3 Cruiserette tells me I morphed into a complete yuppie and this intl high flying image just does not suit the persona

Thanks for the pics/review :)

But yes points harvesting seems to be getting harder and harder, so if you have to slum it in J, then so be it ;)

Fair enough.

FWIW, I always sleep on SQ218 from seatbelt sign to seatbelt sign, so the difference between F and J is fairly unnoticeable. I usually eat in town before going to the airport shortly before departure.

I'll be travelling in January and wondering if the Sydney lounge will be then open after current renovations.

And is Melbourne lounge already renovated?

I hope there is a first class lounge in Melbourne? The old lounge got too many passengers for business class and first class passengers squeezing together.

Guys just read back through this thread - all the info is there.

Yes SQ F in MEL does exist and refurbishment was completed earlier this year - even a bunch of pics posted earlier - no idea on progress of SYD SKL though.

Flew out of SYD last week and the chap at the J counter didn't want to give me a firm answer on the reopening date of the SYD SKL. We both mumbled 'at the end of Nov?' in agreement that neither of us were sure.

I landed back in SYD few days ago but I got another trip in around 2 weeks time so hoping I can check out the lounge then. Would be great if they can have some TWG products there.

I went past the lounge Thursday on my way to the ANZ lounge. The sign on the SQ door says open late November and there were discrete knocks on the door and workers being let in. It looked very finished on the inside when the door was held open for a bit. So it can't be far away now.

Charm, wit, rugged good looks..................a multitude of reasons - completely the opposite reasons why penegal is refused entry point blank!
