Definitely, was hoping Scoot or Air asia would add Cairns to their list this year, here's hoping

I thought that VA bought Tiger off SQ only about 2 years ago for some modest amount, like $1 or something ridiculous as part of some sort of overarching umbrella deal. whats going on here then?

SQ buying back into Tiger and merging (possibly) with scoot? Is anyone making any money here? I can't imagine it being the case with all these ownership shenanigans.

VA only bought the Australian Tiger business, which was always somewhat separate from the Sing Tiger business (and is now almost totally separate, other than using the name and SQ having a share in VA).

VA bought Tiger Australia off Tiger (Singapore) - which is the entity that SQ now has control of.

Tiger Sing has 25 aircraft, more than Jetstar Asia with 18.
Then Scoot with 12 777/788/789s

I think the only people who have done well to date are the passengers.
