FWIW, *G is generally employed to represent "Star Alliance Gold" status.

For what it is worth I will be travelling SQ business class next month on the A380 and I have pre-selected 16A upper deck. Looks to be a good seat, single window seat with no aisle.

Thanks..will do that, thougt others may have had experience. Checked the singapore website, cant do anything without their booking number.

You don't have a 6 character booking reference? I have a booking from BMI and I plugged the booking reference directly into the SQ website and was able to select seats.
