Hi all, we need to book our flight home from Amsterdam in about a month. We are flying to London in August in business on Qatar airways, booked using Qantas points.

Option 1 is to fly home on Qatar airways, but availability is not consistent so we are considering plan B and plan C.

I notice I can book Amsterdam to Sydney in business on Singapore Airlines through Kris flyer. This flight doesn't appear as an option through velocity.

Does anyone know if this flight is able to be booked if I call the velocity call centre? And if so, approx how many points it costs in business? I'm about 9,000 velocity points short to book it through Kris flyer, but can probably manage to earn or buy those points if needed.

You can try and ring velocity and book it through them. If it’s available onnkrisflyer in my experience it’s available through velocity. The the three last Singapore airlines redemptions I’ve made for myself and family in the last month have show sold out on the velocity website but have been available through ringing up. The velocity website seems only to show the flights with SQ with a VA number and not a straight SQ number. Make sure you tell the CC that it doesn’t work online to avoid the fee.
It should be 139k points plus taxes Ams to Mel, Syd, Bne and 121k Ams to Perth

Awesome thanks, I'll try call up in the next week or so and see what they say 😊

Oh our dates won't be available for about a month, I'm just checking options. I will just call up this week to see if the flight is available and if so, I will call up on the day it appears on the Kris flyer site to book it in.

Looking to fly home around September 20. I think Kris flyer is up to august 20 or around there right now.

Oh just realised Kris flyer opens up at 355 days in advance and velocity at 330 days, so I will probably need to book through Kris flyer anyway to get the flight and date we want.

Will call velocity anyway to check but it does seem likely that i will be going through Kris flyer.

Does anyone know what time of day the Singapore flights become available on Kris flyer?

It varies by the destination I have found.

Try 10am for AMS. Or rather try on the hour leading up to it, for a a number of days prior to work it when it opens.

I think with SQ flights thru krisflyer, there is no real need to book the first instant the seats are released.

Awesome, thanks all! Will try my best to get these last 9,000 velocity points, otherwise will buy the last few and then transfer to Kris flyer 😊😊

I'm playing the same waiting game right now, was hoping to find this information - thanks!

i seem to have no problems finding MEL-MUC but MUC-MEL with SG just doesn't seem to exist on it's own,.
ill give the CC a shot once the dates open up :)

Do you mean through velocity or Kris flyer?

Through Velocity sorry, I've got enough points to book at what the values should be through the VA website (eg: 155k per person per direction) but not enough to transfer to Krisflyer then buy through the SG website.

i can find MEL-MUC one-way easily enough but every search i've tried for MUC-MEL as a one-way for the return leg just comes back with nothing (or the etihad offered ones which are significantly more)

is that a similar experience to what you're seeing with AMS? whenever you search for AMS-SYD one way the only options are on Etihad?

Mostly Etihad yeah. I just had a look at MUC to MEL and see some Singapore options, but they are not great connections. Best is MUC to Singapore, Singapore to Perth and then virgin australia Perth to Mel.

It's hard to get Singapore through VA since it's about a month later than when they release through Krisflyer, so most of the good flights are gone already.

I'm about 4000 velocity points away from having enough to buy through Kris flyer. Have been loading up on flybuys points and should make it just in time haha.

I was checking for something similar from MEL to CDG for July 2020 , I am able to find easily on SQ but I have to wait for a week or two for my points to be posted to velocity which will then be transferred to Krisflyer to make the bookings.
