Singapore Hotel - Qantas Flight Crews

I have discussed this thread with the Mods and we have decided to keep it open for the time being. AFF is all about sharing information, even if we question the motivation/ethics of individual posts. We will close the thread if we consider it crosses the line from being simply "tacky" to sinister.

Sorry Admin but I think this thread should be deleted.

I saw an incident where a staff member of a business was going to be hassled at 2 am by someone drunk and knew the staff stayed there.

Security removed the issue before the young lady was in a bad situation which could have ended really badly.

I know where airline crew stay in many cities - but only because I travel enough to run into them. Doesn't mean I'm going to post any locations.

I find this type of thread very creepy, and tied in with the other thread even more creepier.

I agree with Mal, I too have come across flight crews in hotels on my travels and am very careful who I would discuss this with.

In my humble opinion it is a matter of respect towards the crews and an acknowledgement of the very real risks they face from some people.

Agreed....this thread coupled with the other gives me the creeps

I cannot believe AFF would allow the guy who started the "Have you ever met a gorgeous Qantas flight attendant and got their number/given yours" thread to use this forum to find out what hotel the Qantas flight attendants stay at.

The FAs work bloody hard and no doubt have enough trouble fending off drunken leering businessmen while they're on the job. The last thing they need is having the same people 'coincidentally' running into them in the lobby of their hotel while they're trying to relax.

Unbelievable.

The other thread isn't really creepy, is it? Not sure it's anything other than a bit of slightly immature fun.

This thread is another matter. It's a bit stalker like and I thought that was stalkbook ... err, Facebook's domain

Are there really any legitimate reasons for knowing the information the OP has requested apart from bothering poor overworked FAs. Applying that test and I think you'll find there is little value in making this thread available to the more unsavory elements.

Perhaps its also worth considering the potential damage to AFF as a brand were something to happen and media does a google search...

I had concerns with the other thread but chose to remain silent. I believe this thread deserves comment.

As yohy?! asked, are there any legitimate reasons why this thread should exist? I just did a Google search for "flight crews hotel" and this thread was listed as sixth. I don't think this is the sort of image we want this forum to have.

Perhaps a more appropriate thread would be "Without mentioning any names, have you ever stayed in a hotel that flight crew were in?"

I don't see any harm in sharing this information. What the OP chooses to do with it is up to him, just like what we choose to do with any information on AFF is up to the individual. If you don't like AFF being "in the public domain" then lock it down, member-only access.

The issue is not what AFF members do with the information. The issue is what some nonce surfing the web who is not an AFF member does with the info.

I completely agree with the posts saying this thread should be closed and certain posts removed. It threatens the safety of Qantas, and other staff, and the thread is not from members of AFF but from other randoms who will see this in public. This is a moral question about an ethical responsibility to protect those that help us do what we love - fly.

I'd also echo the comments about protecting the AFF business - I am acutely aware of how important that is for admin.

Ok, I hear you all!!

Time to close the thread and edit/remove some posts.
