Hi All,
Has anyone arrived in Singapore since the new COVID testing was announced?
On paper it looks better as you no longer have to do a PCR test on arrival, but it actually seems worse, as you now have to isolate until you can get a supervised RAT done, and it seems that the test centres only work office hours not opening before 10am. Our trip was booked on the old basis of arriving at about 8pm, getting a PCR travelling straight to hotel for ISO. Waking up to results, breakfast at hotel then off to stay with family for the rest of the trip.
Now we have to still isolate in hotel, but cannot get tested until 10am, if we can get a booking at that time, missing hotel breakfast and not being able to check out, until we get tested...
Or am I overthinking it?
Nick.

Take a taxi to Farrer Park Hospital on the edge of Little India ... according to the link below they are open 24/7. Haven't tried them out, as when we last arrived back still had arrival PCR, but I will be next time as they're only a 10 min walk for me.

Hi All, anyone done an express PCR test in Singapore? I have to go to Singapore for meetings so will only be on ground for as long as necessary (say 2 / 2.5 days).

I would like to avoid needing to have 2 RAT tests in that time and instead have one PCR test.

Say I arrive in the evening Day 1 and then get the test that night or the following morning on Day 2.

I can then leave isolation once I receive the negative test result and go to my meetings that day and the following day, Day 3.

I would then plan to depart in the evening on Day 3 to come back to Australia.

If I get a RAT test after arriving, on day 1 or day 2, then I would need to get another RAT test on day 3 to be within 24 hours of departure.

As an alternative I wondered if instead I just got a PCR test after arrival and if I could pay for express service I could have the results in a few hours or overnight.
I could then use the same test for getting back into Australia as well.

or

I could get both a RAT and a PCR at the same place at the same time and assuming the results of the RAT came back in a few hours I could leave isolation, whilst waiting for the PCR to come back in time for my flight home.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for that!! I see they have a hotel next door too!! Great suggestion. Just got a local friend checking the viability.

Yes, get someone to checkout if you can, since I posted yesterday, the gossip around my office here in SG, is that these post-arrival tests are in high demand and it can be difficult securing a testing appointment. Unsurprisingly the removal of the $125 arrival PCR has stimulated demand for outbound travel from Singapore, probably moreso than inbound.

Thank you. Very happy here as I travel in 3 weeks @drron and @mrs.dr.ron and @JessicaTam recall from other posts you will be in the area around May

So no pre departure test. Fantastic. Wouldn't be to hard on the BNE-SIN trip but would require a bit of thinking for the BKK-Sin trip.

What does 'almost' restored to what it was before the pandemic mean? Does it just mean proof of vax is required?

We have been in Singapore this week. They are still very strict on indoor mask wearing and everyone seems to be compliant. Ensure that you have the Tracetogether app as you will have that checked often.

We had our Singapore entry for checked both before we left Syd and when we arrived.

Thanks for that.

Just to clarify on departing SIN is there now no testing as well if one has entered Singapore?

In my case I am looking to stay as Plan A at a hotel in SIN for one night on the way to UK. So I would be exiting and entering Singapore.
Plan B is to not enter.

Well on Easter Sunday we had to have a test in Sydney. Not a hassle at all but I am unsure if things have changed in the last week.
