because they have been treating it as their own lounge at home where they can do exactly what they want

They need that mining and resources lounge they were talking about last year. Anyone that doesn't meet the dress code can be thrown into the pigsty.
Fast forward 30 years and I STILL plan my flying clothes in advance. I'm not suggesting that everyone colour co-ordinates bag, shoes and attire the way I do, but people - please keep this magnificent mode of travel up there with Important Places To Look Good. And for those Privileged Few who enjoy Global Lounges: don't confuse Lounge Access with Lounge Room. This isn't your private home and you should at least take enough pride in your appearance to justify the efforts you went to in gaining access to the Lounge in the first place.
Dressing down to shorts and T shirts (no matter how premium the brand) is just a way of showing the world you can't be bothered, it's never cool.
I met a guy once who had gone to jail (in america) for running a network of speakeasy gambling joints. No drugs, no prostitutes, just high quality booze and free poker tables. And... nobody allowed in unless they were dressed to the nines. He said "we're all extras in somebody else's fantasy."
I do have a friend who was denied entry to a Virgin lounge. She's a musician. Dressed for the stage. See-through top, but she was wearing a bra. And the whole outfit was stage-worthy - nothing ripped or daggy. but not, appearently, lounge-worthy. I'd much rather have shared the space with her than mister thongs-on-the-seat above.
