Snow, Onsen and Crab!

After frantically checking various Kyoto live cams. I've decided to go to Kibune later today. There should be snow!

Exactly what I'm doing! i don't know how people manage it on the go on a phone. I just keep my trip diary the old fashioned way - by writing in a diary and sticking in interesting tickets, receipts, brochures etc. I like re-reading these randomly at future times. And I use them to put together my AFF TR.
Yes I'm only capable of writing some random thoughts on the go.
No idea how people can finish a whole trip report like that!
Plus I really need the computer to work..... Phone is not enough!
All of this. I just scrawl some notes in my diary and then put it together. Just updating my diary today took over an hour let alone even sorting out photos for the TR

Yes. And I also have photos on my camera. I NEED the computer to process them.

Last night there was some snow...
So hoping for the best I went to Kinkakuji in the morning.
Errr, problem is they open at 9am and by then it's mostly gone ;((

Hows the crowds?

I hear its absolutely ridiculous in Kyoto these days so i haven't visited in a while.
Same. I haven't been since early 2023!
Well Kinkakuji was not too bad although that might be due to my timing. After that I went to Kamigamo Jinja which is not that popular so who knows.....

In Kyoto, I think as long as you are willing to stay away from Gion /Kawaramachi Shijo, and Kyoto Station, it's not too bad.

Sigh, the forecasted morning snow didn't happen!
I'm sitting in my hotel room debating whether to check out and go to Kiyomizu dera .....

So I have an ambitious plan for today ;)
First to Amanohashidate, complete my Nihon Sankei collection.
Then take the beautiful Akamatsu train to Nishi Maitsuru (nothing there...)
From Nishi Maitsuru I have to go to Kyoto then Osaka.... I'll probably arrive at my hotel near KIX by about 10pm?

Oh, have I mentioned before, that sometimes when you stay in a ryokan, especially the older ones. They would have pillows that feel like it was filled with beans or something??
Well today I solved another mystery!
I opened one, and guess what? It was hollow plastic tubes..... damn why does anyone think it's a good idea????

I will need a pic as proof.
