SNU voucher experiences / best redemptions

Fairmont can be a good option for redemptions as you'll end up in a room which gives lounge access (which Platinum won't) but ultimately it depends on your travel plans.

Wow. I'm glad I happened to read this post. I wasn't aware that Fairmont excluded plats from the lounge. I was strongly considering booking a Fairmont in Vancouver for next month assuming I'd get lounge access. This is likely to sway where I book.

Seems rather short sighted to be honest. They're likely to loose out on a booking to save a few dollars. I can't be the only one to do this based on this policy.

Even as Diamonds we are excluded from the Fairmont Gold lounges and I feel it is pretty poor when you are spending $30k a year on their properties

You’re not alone. I give them a miss too for the same reason. Sometimes it means booking outside the Accor group and <shock> paying for a non-buffet breakfast at a local cafe.

Even after the breakfast bill I’m usually well in front.

If I wanted to use 2x SNUs, then stay longer at the same property in a different room, is it possible to do it under one booking (with two room types)?
Or just have 2 consecutive bookings and treat them as if they were separate?
