Certainly seems you are not on QF's MVP list

Maybe they are follwoing this thread and are just playing with him for fun;)

I am glad you this time you held out for a better seat, although still middle.

I think i am cursed! maybe they know i'm an ex AN employee?

Needless to say im a bit concerned about future travel if its always going to be like this, even more so next Wednesday the 2nd June on QF93 to LAX better not end up at the back of the bus!

Speaking of which, I could do with a favour: can anyone in the know tell me the loading in PE and J on that flight?

Yeah, they subbed an international configuration 763 for a domestically configured one. This was decided sometime before 1:45pm yesterday.

Did you obtain your BP after this time?

Did OLCI and had 32A.
Then got given 47B at the gate at departure time, complained and was given 25K.
So yes got my boarding pass after that time. All worked out in the end.

Serfty, sorry to be a pain can u check QF 93 2nd June? or was QF94 a typo? also what class(es) is PE ? thanks mate, sorry to be such a pain!

QF93 ... PE classes are W, T & R.

presence of R a week beforehand indicates a lightish load.

Set map shows 34F, 35E/F, 36E, 37D/E and 38D/E/F/J/K unallocated.

Lesson there: always try to recheck your seating on arrival at the airport (if you have time) - either via Quickcheck, on-line or a QP agent.

I asked the lady how come i got such a rearward seat given my frequent flyer status and she said she wasnt sure but was propbably caused by the change of aircraft.
I posted this in another thread a while back.

I have discovered a major glitch in pre-allocating seats and recommend people to check allocated seats constantly for any changes to scheduled aircraft.

I had pre-allocated 25B on an international configured 767 (crew rest where 23AB and 24AB are normally) for a SYD-BNE flight in late May and the aircraft has been changed to a 734 this far out. :( Guess where my pre-allocated seat is now?

My ritual now is select seat at time of booking, check pre-allocated seat again at T-80, use OLCI to ensure I get best possible economy seat, keep checking OLCI until I get to the airport, use QuickCheck machine, get boarding pass from check-in counter or bag drop. Usually means I get the best possible economy seat for my flight.

I do not want to sit in 25B on a 734. Unless there are 2 gorgeous blonds sitting either side. ;)

You could take this one step further :- Grab BP from lounge dragon on the way in, grab 3 beers, compare seats with two colleagues, gasp in horror to see that some scummy Silver is two rows ahead of you, quickly use laptop to check seat map, find a seat 4 rows ahead of him is free, select seat while looking colleague directly in the eye, go back up to dragon to swap new boarding pass, wonder why she has the same look of disgust as your colleague, shrug it off and get another beer.

Actually it was a great result as the middle seat was free and the taxi queue at Sydney a nightmare, so being 6 rows more forward probably got me home 10-15 minutes earlier. But my colleagues still think I'm a banker ....

Ah-hah, first mistake. Having done the OLCI and got an average seat, you approach the mature age beauty behind the lounge counter, flirt blatantly and ask if there are any nicer seats available. Get it right and she will take your boarding pass and ask you to "come back and see me in ten minutes or so dear". If you bat for the other team, then its mince to the counter with the nice chap.

Misogynists miss out on so much.

Never did OLCI as I was flat out working. Seat was fine .... until I saw that the system apparently DKWIW. Dragon is a less offensive term than "mature age beauty" IMHO, and flirting with either is so sad. Not as sad as mincing for the "chaps", but if it works for you ....

And BTW - I wouldn't hate women so much if they weren't all evil.

And with your luck John they would be Warwick Capper look alikes :p
Thanks a lot Doc. That does wonders for my expectations. Now I will really be terrified of row 25 on a 734.

By the way I am doing the handicapping for the AFF Golf Challenge at AFF Gathering #4 in Brisbane. ;)

No problems-I would still be the hot favourite for the Don Bradman prize no matter what my handicap.

Oh and as a side note, Butter chicken for dinner, thats like the 11th curry in a row for dinner........

I also had butter chicken for dinner, ADL-SYD flight. Seems like it's a curry month or something.

Butter Chicken on the SYD-MEL flight last Friday night too..

Thai red Chicken curry the time before!

OK, it happend again last night.

Heading back last night on QF459, was booked in 32A with OLCI.

Got to the gate, scanned red, this time i certainly didnt have my hopes up about an op-ip! was told to go over to the main check in check counter at the gate not the little computer next to the scan in points, Was told there was a change of plane so was getting a new seat, no problems at all, was 47B!!!

I got half a tease the other day in the States, AA domestic flight. After most pax were onboard, an FA with a clearly marked 'First' BP walked down the aisle. There were some spontaneous chuckles as obviously a few pax within that section sensed a lottery was on its way. One guy won the upgrade battle  and he was an AA Exec Platinum. There’re 2 other AA Exec Plats and an OWE (me) who were left pondering….
