Xmas day with the families; including The Spending Machine's folks whom we have imported from Zurich for the occasion; at my parent's house.

NYE with friends from all over the place at our house, watching the fireworks and having somewhat of a Krug-fest.

Leaving town on January 02 and heading to our new life in Paris!

So, I'm now having an impromptu drinking-and-air-conditioning session at my place on Christmas Day and then over to a friends for more booze and food on Boxing Day. Should be good!

I got a phone call this afternoon to let me know that the care package of Christmas presents successfully made it to my folks place in BNE -- so I won't get disowned this year! :D

My plan is to spend Christmas lunch with a few of my cousins, uncles; aunts from dads side of the family, then dinner at my place with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend.

No plans for NYE; usually away at some sailing regatta somewhere in Australia; but not this year. I somehow in the wrong size category and the fact that I have done a bit of traveling means that I haven't been following any of the major sailing events over the Christmas and New Year.

No plans to fly anywhere over the next 3 weeks which will give the credit card a breather.

I will get to look after my brothers salt water fish tank for the next 2 weeks while he is away, for some reason the fish want daily feeding and the salt water tank needs twice weekly cleaning and maintenance.

A Christmas church service this evening then staying home for a few days. Our daughters, husbands and their kids will all be here for the day tomorrow. That is 6 adults and 4 kids so quite manageable.

For New Year we will be out with a small group of friends, on a boat, on the Gippsland Lakes so that should be fun and different for us.

Church service this eveing with SWMBO, our daughter and Her Mum.

Family Lunch and Dinner with varying attendees (Shifts?) will see me out.

Golf on Sunday.

Jumping on an aluminium tube, formed into a shape remarkably like a 737, and flying to Perth, arriving in time for a Xmas lunch....

NY to be advised....

I know this year is the last year of the current decade (which was the first decade of the new century), but I don't see myself doing anything big.
If there was no year 0 in the current Gregorian calendar (or Julian calendar) then year 1 was the first year of the 1st millenium, 2000 (not 1999 as some people believe) was the last year of the 2nd millenium, 1 January 2001 was the beginning of the 3rd millenium and 2010 would be the last year of the 1st decade of the 3rd millenium....

Very quiet here.

Christmas eve dinner at a friends property in the Eden Valley last night and a very lazy day at home today. All our family live OS and we are having a solo Xmas this year.

I'm working through the break (I work at a winery in the Barossa Valley) and will have a very quiet NYE. Have some friends visiting on the 1st and 2nd of Jan, so I'll show them around the region before having a night in Adelaide (staying at the Hilton, dining at Sparrow, Yum Cha at Ding Hao, some market shopping then back to the Barossa).

I hope everyone had a great Christmas day and you all have a safe New Year and a successful 2010.

Cheers

Dave

Well it was breakfast & lunch with various parts of the family, then a booze-up with my mates at night.

Today has been somewhat of a recovery day, lounging by the pool watching the cricket.

NYE is still TBA........ most years that I can remember, we've not decided what we're doing till 8pm!

Well we are now leaving for Lakes Entrance so all I can say is:

2010 Contract

After serious & cautious consideration. .. your contract of friendship has been renewed for the New Year 2010!

It was a very hard decision to make... So try not to screw it up!!!

My Wish for You in 2010

May peace break into your home and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for £50 notes.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips!
May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy
May the problems you had, forget your home address!
In simple words ..............

May 2010 be the best yearof your life!!!

Happy New Year!!

Well, Christmas was split into two for us as usual - Dec 20 was the Wilson side's Xmas at my parents house with Mrs LW and both mini-LW's. Xmas Day was at our house with the Outlaws.

We then kept my niece-in-law on Xmas night (she's 10 y.o.) and took her and my family down to the Gold Coast for a 3 night stay at a resort focused on kids. My daughter dotes on her older cousin, who thankfully is very patient and plays with and looks after my daughter. Was a very cheap way to get them together and showed us what it's like to hav 3 kids.

We then dropped my niece-in-law at her home on 29th as well as dropping Charlotte at my parent's home for a 2 night stay. Was really nice to be able to focus on doing some things around the house and spending a lot of 1-on-1 time with new (8 week old) son.

Picked up my daughter this morning and today spent playing with her. Tonight has been spent getting my son to bed (he's been very unsettled over last 2 nights).

With 2 hours left before NY in BNE, I'll probably be awake trying to settle my son back to sleep (after his last feed of the decade). So a very quiet night for us.

Off to Lennox Heads on Saturday for a week with just the 4 of us. Then back to work for a week, then 4 days in MEL for Conference & work the following week.

Dislike NYE with a passion, every year I’m alone and it’s just a sad reminder that I’ve still yet to accomplish anything :p Plus we always end up on the Gold Coast beach to watch the fireworks that are really bad, especially when compared to what I’ve seen in Asia.

Luckily this year we’re sending it at home. I’ve had a few bottles of beer and there’ll be a few more to come.

We’re going to watch the fireworks on TV, but Sky has already missed the NZ fireworks, so I’m not sure how hot they’ll be for the rest. Looking forward to anything I see though, especially as it pours down outside.

Happy New Year!!!!

They are, but I didn't see them live...Sky News only showed them in the 10pm bulletin...it's being shown again right now!!

Well I had just 1 glass of red wine last night.Went to bed at 2200.Didnt get woken by any celebrations and feel absolutely fine.
Making exactly the same New Years resolution as last year as it was the first time I have seen it through all year.A simple one-at least once a week go out of my way to be nice to someone.Makes me feel good too and certainly has surprised a few people as well.:)

As per "tradition" (apparently it is one), we did the family and family friends gathering thing for NYE/NY2010 not at our house but at my aunt's house. Before that happened, during the day we went to the Gold Coast (Arundel) for one of our family friend's birthday party - he turned 50.

Finished that party, raced back up to Brisbane and headed to the next one. Lots of people there and although we missed the countdown to the new year (too many different clocks around the house and not getting the television on until about 3 seconds to midnight), someone eventually realised it was past midnight and so cue many handshakes, hugs and kisses exchanged between all.

Alcohol consumption report: 3 glasses of Ricadonna Rose, 5 Coronas (brewed in AU under contract, of course :().
