Fabulous.

A comment from YT “Today’s music is all about created artists, back in the day it was all about creativity. Long live Donald fa_en, Boz and Micheal McDonald”.

Too true.

I miss Steve Gadd. Phenomenal drummer on AJA,

not withstanding the stunning ad lib by Wayne Shorter on Sax. How Steely Dan got Wayne Shorter to play on 'Aja'
My mind went straight to that solo as soon as I read your comment.

Got into this man in the early '70s when he turned music on it's head. Photo riding the Tokyo underground. This was before he became a little, odd.

Ok, I've employed some Google-Fu and worked out that it's Jaco Pastorius.
Correct. He introduced the world to 16 note style playing. In Weather Report he often had a frenetic 16 note style, intersperssed with sensitive interpretations. When later he joined with Joni Mitchell he exhibited such delicate riffs on Hejira that really made the album. Amazing, versatile musician.
