Johnk, I have a lot of friends through AFF and FT who make up over 30% of my friends.

Then there is family, old school friends and then there is people you might know from other sporting clubs, so it adds up. Sometimes you have people who you might meet for like 2 minutes and will add you as a friend.

I did not think I had any friends on AFF!

I don't want that loser from high school who ended up doing jail time on his 18th birthday and has spent most of his time in jail and blames the rest of the world for his problems accidentally finding me on Facebook from some obscure association from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. Or something along those lines....

No, I actually registered to see if anybody would be willing to donate Qantas Club complimentary passes for a very good cause. But admin keep deleting my posts saying that they are of a commercial nature.

I think it is a great website for frequent travellers such as ourselves. I'm pretty happy that I stumbled across it. I just joined planely as well. Are there any other related websites that I need to be joining??

Well admin would be right, haha. Occasionally members donate passes they have no use for, but often this is to members who have contributed and not just registered for the sole purpose of liberating said passes

Giving away passes is allowed, asking/begging for them isn't. They also can't be exchanged/sold, but if you're planning to fly on a particular day, checking out if other members are also flying on that day might work for you, if they can guest you into the lounge.

As for other websites, this one is very good for Australia, but there are two others that are good, www.flyertalk.com and www.milepoint.com though both are mainly focused on the other side of the world

As for the topic of this thread, I haven't yet worked out how to invite, so cannot do so for you, but I'm sure someone else will help. And point me in the right direction.

You don't have to accept invites on FB. I had a particularly evil Ex ask to be friends. Guess she forgot the hell she put me through.

My concern medhead is that people can bypass my settings so that is why I have a facebook page under a different name and just let friends know before I friend request.

The main reason I wanted facebook was to play AM.

Valid concern but you can get that problem with anything online. Nice solution that neatly deals with unwanted friending as well
