As has been the trend over the past few years, adding extra days to do some birding whilst on business trips, this time South America. One sight I always wanted to see was the Andean Condor and got the chance on Thursday, 12 hours after arriving on the QF flight ex SYD. It was amazing to see such a magnificent bird flying with such grace. I grew up on the doco narrated by Andrew Sachs (Manuel from Fawlty Towers) and it was just as good. The pictures will be a great memory........

Great shots! I've been birding a lot in South America but I didn't see the condor.

What fantastic photos.

I shoot with an Olympus OMD-1 with a 300mm F4.0 lens. Love the 4/3's system and the ability to carry an equivalent 600mm lens in such a compact size. I'm a little worried that OM Systems might disappear so I'm stocking up on lens.

Finally home after working in Brazil and a few more "birding jaunts". The condor's were the highlight but there were others that I thought I would share, the Inca terns were also amazing. 117 extra species to the life list, so not a bad working holiday.
