Hi all

Just a quick one - have we confirmed that there is a soft landing from P1 to WP? I just ticked over my renewal date and it shows "2,400 SCs to achieve additional Platinum benefits" - that implies to me that I do not need to get 1,200 SCs to retain WP as it would say "1,200 SCs required to retain platinum status" wouldn't it?

I don't think it will be an issue retaining WP anyway as eight days into the year I should be on 480 SCs when they post plus another 120 over the next three weeks.

Far as I'm aware it's certainly a P1 -> WP landing. The earliest a member could do this would be November 30 (?) so no chance at finding out before then. Agree the counter starts at 2,400 and not 1,200 which implies the landing is actually P1 -> WP+ -> WP

Not sure on that as WP+ isn't a status as such - just some benefits. However on 4000+ SCs in a single year and 2400+ for the two years prior to that I would expect at least one comp year ;)

And now confirmed probably not the case as it is now showing 1,080 SCs to retain platinum.

Certainly but my misinterpretation yesterday was that as 1,080 required to retain wasn't showing then requal was automatic.

Sorry just reread your initial post. Same thing happened to me on day one of my new year. 2400 for additional benefits. Reset after a day or so to 1200 to retain platinum.

That would be correct based on the statements people keep making on AFF that Platinum One is not a new status.

But I would also expect Qantas to grant at least one comp back to Platinum considering all the flying one has to do to get there. After all they are not giving back too much over and above Platinum anyway.
