Some Qantas Elite Travellers Not Match Fit

The physical current card indeed exists. I have one that I received late last year - had to drag it out twice over the weekend. (BA lounge in SIN was one place.)
But not for all and our expiry was end of April. BA in Inverness requested it from us on Wednesday.

Agree, last physical card I received was in 2019; ever since they have been doing the extensions no new card has materialised.

I've heard they have only been sending then out if you have the travel money feature enabled on the card.

BA in Inverness requested it from us on Wednesday.

I have a couple of domestic and one international BA flights but as they are all in J I hope I wont need to show a physical card to get into lounges as I don't have a current one. No problem to show virtual card on the app but I would just expect status to be printed on the boarding pass given ticket has FF# on it.

Physical cards only appear to have been issued when:

1. higher status level is achieved (and maybe lower?)
2. those using QF cash

otherwise yes there have been no new cards issued for quite some time. My last one was in 2019 also.

That is my understanding anyway.

Use the app they say... which is no issue for me... but for others... (see the thread about new kiosks...)

The attendant wasn't all that excited by the App. She wanted to see paperwork. She kept referring to the List she had in her hands.

Were you flying J? Was the list of named passengers or just of eligble FF programs and status?

Not flying J and on a Qantas Award flight on domestic BA for an hour. She kept saying that 'they' usually give her a list of eligible passengers to enter the lounge and if not on the list she wanted to see the physical card. She was extremely pleasant and not sure if she found our names or not but let us in.

It's that much more difficult with some partners specially when status is not printed on a BP and/or some agents seem to want to see a card (this is more and more rare, but clearly still going on in some locations per Pushka's experience). It's one of those vexing situations created by the times we are in.

It may even just be individual agents of course who can't handle things a little different to what they expect.

I recall a situation at LAX I think it was at the AA lounge in T4 back quite some years ago when I was a new P1 the agent wanted to see a card which I happily showed and she puzzled over it a bit. turns out the list of, with images(!) cards they had only went to Platinum, and the white P1 card threw them (despite the emerald OW logo etc). The fact the BP also had Emerald on there also is what swayed them in the end. It was more amusing than annoying and everyone was friendly and polite but yeah.. that was a thing.

Agree. QF current card doesn't exist anymore except on the App. Yet we were asked for it just yesterday at a BA lounge in Inverness.
The only time we’ve been asked for our QF card is when entering the WP lounges…

Hi, I never take a lot of luggage but, this time on a Y domestic QF gold, can I take 2 x 7kg HLO? 😋. Thanks
