Southern Cross Travel Insurance and missed connections

Oh I am sure there are a lot of insurers that offer something for a missed connection - but I would think most exclude LCC because the tickets are just single segments. I know of some policies where if your initial flight is delayed beyond x amount of hours there is some coverage - regardless of the connecting flight, but then getting the written confirmation required from both airlines could prove difficult.
I still take lots of LCC flights, and if something happens then so be it, at that time I'll probably still be ahead.
Its not there to undermine the policy everyone *should* still process within the policy wording, but the problem with claims, be it house, travel, pet (lesser extent car) is that everyones circumstances are unique, therefore difficult to write a book of procedures around. Having said that, certain companies with their decline until they complain policy are absolutely disgraceful (thus not working their for long) but I did work in a claims department where very few hold insurance I am not sure of the process where the masses hold their insurance but it did make me lose all faith. I challenged it a few times, I went ahead and settled claims that had wrongly been declined a few times (got in trouble for "giving away" money a few times), but I believe that there is no point in stuffing people around at claims time, if they are entitled to it they are entitled to it and declining and review on appeal will only lose the business and that of as many people they can convince to change so its really not saving anything. I think it is a poor and dishonest business model, but it is their choice and I choose not to be a part of it.
