Sparkling (Shiraz or Red) Recommendations?

Yeah, the first release was a ripper, I bought heaps and still have some, the second release was made without any dosage and was essentially a fizzy dry red. Some people tried adding their own dosage of various sweet fortifieds, most just sent it back. Dan Murphy didn't change the description for the new batch ("blended together with some very old fortified "), but the Rose Kentish site confirms the zero dosage status.

So this is a steer clear situation then (on the current bottles for sale)?

I (and others I know) sent most of this lot back, I kept a couple to see how they develop and maybe try doing some muscat or port dosage as an experiment.
I would not recommend it to anyone.

Can anyone recommend some sparkling reds? I had the Rockford last night again, and I absolutely love it.

I enjoy drinking red like this, it felt much lighter.

Seppelt is a bit of a staple, or Best's, and they are lower priced/easier to get than the Rockford. I quite like the Rose Kentish Sparkling Shiraz.

The primo estate Joseph is fantastic but pricey and hard to get hold of.

I enjoy the Bleasdale.

Agreed on the above.

I find Bleasdale is quite enjoyable and has some similar notes to Rockford at a fraction of cost.

That's one of the best sparkling reds available. The Seppelt Show Sparkling red is even pricier and just as good IMHO.

The Seppelt Original used to be a vintage wine. I thought it was fantastic value for money. It moved to a NV in 2015 and quality went down.

Just got an email from CellarDoor.co - they have Seppelt The Great Entertainer Sparkling Shiraz NV for $7 on sale

I had one of these as part of the cellar door freebie. It was pretty average I thought. Not worth the money at any price. I'd rather pay more and drink something better.

Can try to call Rockford and they may sell you 3 bottles over the phone.
I like the d'Arenberg, Langmeil and from the topshelf the Melton.

Basic Seppelt is ok.

Just buy a bottle each and do your tasting..

I appreciate everyone's responses and will look into them all.

I'm confident their sold out at Rockford's, it's super popular.
