Currently serving

Chicken laksa with fried tofu, vermicelli noodles, wok chow and fried shallots

Vegetarian wonton noodle soup

In the name of research, i tried both and can report the laksa is the pick (unless you're vegetarian). Great level of spice without too much chilli.

The wonton noodle soup needed either a spicier wonton or a spicier soup......

I don’t mean to sound spoilt but as a weekly visitor I’m even getting tired of all the options. You can extrapolate how I feel about SYD’s offering from this. Been mostly having the curry and chilli con carne dish. Wouldn’t mind a more regular refresh
I am not weekly, but at least monthly and often more, and I agree. Plus the same items(and pairings) seem on regular rotation for a week or so at a time.

Plenty of asian dishes they could potentially rotate in - eg tom yum soup, san choy bao(though they may have done this at one point?) pad thai, chicken rice, heck satay... even the old standards like chicken and blackbean, teriyaki beef, whathaveyou.

I get the impression there's a set mix of ingredients and options over say 8-10 dishes and rotate over a few months, then rince and repeat. I also realise they want items that are easier to prepare in bulk and put together quickly as they do.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy it way more than the SYD slop, but yeah mix it up more?

Now I'm sure no one will agree with my comments.

I was there a few weeks ago and the guy serving was miserable and seemed as if he didn't really want to be there. And the food was just so-so.

There, I told you that you wouldn't like what I said, but it's my honest opinion.

Lol. Sounds like a bloke I've seen there a few times over recent months. Certainly had the demeanour of someone just doing a job and would rather be elsewhere.

Well, tbh, it is a bit of a conveyor belt operation to put together those dishes for the punters at the final stage.

Food quality which is far more important.. yeah it was better in the past I agree. Also still better than some other options out there imo.

No judgment from me…I don’t really want to be there either…just a function of catching the bus home on an evening mel syd shuttle. My interactions have been fairly limited to my selection so havent been able to comment much further.
I catch a mel Syd more than my local bus as do many other in there so I feel that’s the crowd they’re targeting at peak hour.

I think I also got this guy, unless this is a consistent spicy experience they are creating.

How was the pork? Looks ok.. I'll be through in a few days so almost certain same menu.
Actually fairly tender. I would say if you like spices, ask the attendent for a but more of the chilli sauce they put on. She barely drizzled any on for me.

I think that was the only thing I wished I had asked for.

Kimchi fried rice was ok, but I think I cook a better kimchi fried rice myself 😄
