Hi guys, this isn't anything set in stone, I am just curious to get peoples feedback, answers, ideas, comments et cetera.
I most likely be traveling to Spokane next year (Northern Summer) to visit friends as a part of a greater US holiday, and a quick search shows that neither AA or MQ fly to it. AS does granted and a quick search of AA does show it does a Seattle-Spokane codeshare - but It has got me thinking about possibly other options none the less, since I'll be doing a AA SJU status run anyway (if it is still around anyway), I could in theory try for this as my one non-OW flight per holiday that I tend to take (I was originally going to try a jetBlue flight from BOS -but maybe this will be a better option instead especially since I really don't like the idea of flying a non-Union airline - I grew up in a big Labour household! LOL).
Now, since everything is that far away, nothing is set at the moment, especially costs, so this is just more general thoughts from fellow AFF members.
So three options I guess -
AS via codeshare with AA
DL from SLC - the most realistic option granted, as I will be visiting SLC, Utah (I lived there for three years and thus be spending a bit of time there). Only drama is I don't have any SkyTeam Alliance FF program - in that case what would be the best to join?
UA from Denver and at least add something to my little used by slowly building up A3 account (which convenience or not with DL, I'd actual prefer to do then to open an SkyTeam account - though granted I am still either/or if one has a better deal then the other). And I might be one of 3 people here that has no major drama with UA (short haul granted)
With the latter two - do they have their own version of status runs that AA does? Granted never having to bother about using that, thus I'm oblivious to the answer sorry, but if I was to do a flight, might as well go via a few cities, especially if i can do instant upgrades! That might win me over
I do plan to do the traditional AA status run as well - I do plan to make WP (is it wrong that such a big part of any holiday is planned around having one or two status runs?)
As said nothing is set in stone, so I am not sure much looking at prices/costs at this point of time either, though also at this far out, hopefully they will not be an issue either.
Also anybody been to Spokane to recommend things to do? I assume most of what to do is National Park related or booze runs to Idaho/Canada, but hey interested in ideas
