Breakfast Menu

Pancakes with bacon!!!

The MEL all day menu is slightly different to the SYD one as we all know - in particular the options I had my eye on, based on the previous post, were all unavailable!

No espresso martini (they had to clarify with me what was in it), different sorbet flavours - no apparent change from recent seasons, although there was a dessert choice in addition to the 1x soup and 3x savoury options in the Market Specials section - I know it's variable but from what I remember, there usually is another dessert option?

I did have the pancakes - didn't really excite me. Ramen was OK - the crackling pork in it was a standout winner.
Chilled mango pudding with mango and mint salsa - market special - really disappointed me :(
I should have had the chicken schnitzel option but I was looking forward to a similar plate onboard.

This is going to sound sacrilegious but I didn't have the best F lounge experience last week. It wasn't bad per se, but certainly not as nice as all the other MEL and SYD visits...

There are more dining tables in MEL now, I think it was mentioned that the dining area was going to be expanded - don't remember noticing at my last visit.

New lamb pancakes Are delicious...
Just maybe a replacement for s&p squid.

But you need to like spice

I tried a few dishes from the Spring menu the past weekend:oops::mrgreen::shock:. Here are a few pics:

ry%3D400

Tonkotsu Ramen with pork belly, mushroom & tea egg
This dish is to die for...IMHO, one of the best dishes ever served in the F lounge!!

ry%3D400

Scampi fried rice with garlic, chives and chilli sambal
Very nice indeed! A real hunger stopper.

ry%3D400

Salt & pepper squid with green chilli dipping sauce and aioli
An old favourite...

ry%3D400

Green tea, Black sesame and Lychee sorbet
Yummy!

Forgot the name of this, but a nice refreshing pineapple type brulee...

If you are wondering whether all the above meals were for 2 persons, you are wrong!!.....I spent a most uncomfortable night as punishment for my earlier gluttony!!

The MAIN reason why I maintain QF platinum status:oops:!

I forget the exact name of this dish but it's a type of lamb samosa with a kick of chilli from the current specials

I think the culturally correct term is 'Gozleme'

Depends on which country originated it (much like kababs which even vary by name in our own states), it could also be Murtabak or Qistibi.

Roti Murtabek (or Muthabuk) is a favourite of mine at little Malaysia restaurant in Melbourne.

Man, this chap does have some appetite !

I had the Tonkatsu ramen with Pork Belly - it was very nice.

The best thing I had there was the Gelato Messina tasting selection - to die for.

There are two dining!
Yep, but I not sure what the other had:
