Hi All,

Will be taking my first SQ J flight in a few months time.
I booked the A350-900 Medium Haul flight. However I would like to hear your personal experience of both/either.
Assuming it is a non-bulkhead seat and travelling with partner.
I have read that the 777 seats are at an angle, is it uncomfortable?

Cheers

SQ J seats are perfectly horizontal when in bed mode. The only issue is that when you sleep, the line from head to toe is not perfectly aligned with the aircraft's length.

In other words: looking from side, you sleep on a horizontal bed, but if you look from above, your body is not parallel to the length of the aircraft.

Horizontal compared to what? If parallel to the floor, then they’d really be at an angle of about 3º, with your feet higher than your head. Not much, but noticeable.

I think the OP was wondering whether SQ J seats in 777 were angle-lie flat. I was responding to that question.

Actually, this is only true for the longhaul part of SQ's fleet.

The medium haul configuration fitted to shorthaul A350s (9V-SH*) and B78Xs has a footwell in front of the seat, and the seat reclines into this when converting to bed. The rows are staggered from the one in front, ie alternating between seat closer to the aisle or further away. The middle seats are both staggered the same way when compared to the aisle.. which means every second row has two middle seats closer together.

The longhaul seat is fitted to the 77W fleet and longer haul A359's (9V-SM*, 9V-SJ*, 9V-SG*). They are wider and not staggered. Yes you sleep diagonally across the seat, but personally I prefer these.. they feel more spacious and comfortable.
