This is an absolutely dishonest and appalling act on the part of SQ to announce this right after VA's devaluation, full knowing many VA members would transfer their VA to KF during the few weeks leading up to the VA's devaluation.

Across the board in premium cabins. Economy, FWIW, stays the same.

Getting like QF, selling way too many points in multiple markets and not enough seats available to match demand.

So soon after their 2018 major devaluation!? Cheap shot at all the VA and upcoming Amex MR transfers. Shame on you SQ.

Will still transfer my AX MR to SQ in April though ;)

I haven't actually looked, but how would transferring to CX rate compared to SQ?

Need to book in some awards for Jan 2020 quickly then

That’s disappointing as their last devaluation wasn’t that long ago.

How much is this deval? Last time was 15% plus the removal of the online booking discount if 15%.

Can you please share a link to the announcement?

:(

At least it’s not the magnitude of the last increase.

We transferred all of our VA points before the deval. as it’s most likely our next booking will be SQ - not sure we would have done any different had we known about the increase before Dec 31st though.

The increase in marginal at best. Still happy the decision to transfer VA to SQ as it would have been a double hit not to do so. At least with SQ there is good redemption availability.

Bris /Syd/Melb Europe was 210000 return on saver before any idea what it will be after 24th Jan

which is exactly what I did -

Star Alliance award rates not changing right? How easy is it to get domestic awards on United? Will have to try to tack on something next time I use KF pts to the US.

Going to be many more devaluations in 2019 if the recent trend rolls on

bad news but better to have banked out before the deadline a few days than now.

why would SQ know this? the transfer rate devaluation was the same in both directions, so there is no reason for either Airline to assume there would be large bulk transfers in either direction.

The increase in redemption rates is not much anyway, Business class into Asia is up by a piddly 4000 pints. Its a spit in the ocean.

Redemption rates have to go up over time due to inflation, as we earn more income, spend more monet and earn more points, the award seats need to have incremental increases. Its certainly been much easy to earn points volumes in recent times than 10+ years ago.
