Attention Velocity experts, I have a friend flying from Sydney to London Heathrow on SQ222 next month. A few questions:

  1. Will they earn Velocity Points or KrisFlyer miles for this flight?
  2. Will they receive Velocity Status Credits?
  3. Does Singapore Airlines offer any promotional upgrades to Business Class, similar to what Qatar Airways does? If so, are the upgrades pricey etc
Thanks in advance for your help!"

He'll get Velocity points and status if they've linked their Velocity card.

1. If they enter their Velocity number they will get Velocity points. If they enter their KrisFlyer number they will get KrisFlyer points. You can't credit to both, only one.
2. Only if they enter their Velocity number.
3. No

4. If you enter your KrisFlyer number you get free in-flight wifi. Some people report with other frequent flyer programs, depending on the support agent you can get free wifi by them entering the KrisFlyer number as a secondary program.

Confirming that I'm on board right now, Velocity number linked to booking - can now use your krisflyer account to login and access wifi, even without it being linked to the booking - it gives you a code after logging into the account that can be used to get wifi.

Seems to be new, wasn't available like this last time I flew SQ
