SQ J Saver

Whatever you do with booking SQ rdpts only ever book ow savers - much more flexibility than ret savers.

YES you can add stopover to ow saver but will cost US$100ea - can do 2 stopovers on a ow if 3 sectors - ie SYD-SIN-FRA-NYC.

As for pairings of sectors only the good lord could fathom that one - plenty times PEK-SIN-MEL unavailable - but the 2 individual show available.

Quite possible SIN-SYD will show unavailable but KUL-SIN-SYD will show available. KF call ctr always your best friend if you have queries - I have good contacts there - you can pm me if require assistance but I am in USA til 25th and limited access to AFF. But you still should call yourself - the more experience we all get the better for everybody.

Am waitlisted for SQ216 J PER-SIN for 20/9. Normally how long does it take to clear waitlist?

Did a dummy booking on SQ, seems to have only 5 seats available.

On the above topic,

I recently changed an Online booked saver thru NGO-SIN-SYD to a NGO-xSIN-ADL (there was no Saver availability to SYD).

All done on the phone with a helpful operator.
Total cost
- No points (so the online rates stuck)
- Call centre fee (US$20), Stopover Fee (US$100), Recalculation of taxes (US$46)

--

Would still prefer to go to SYD.From what I can tell I can't waitlist for this segment, could only make a new booking with Waitlist (I dont have the points), but just have to keep checking availability online.

You're pushing it on the Singapore F1 weekend, normally that redeye definitely clear.

Hi Cruiser,

Tell me if this is correct:

I want to book 2 X one way J Savers for 2 adults and 1 Child

My aim is to get to KUL while having a stopover in SIN (say for 5 nights) and the same for the return trip.

So I can book a one way J saver for 2 adults and a child SYD-SIN stopover for 5 nights and then fly from SIN-KUL and stay in KUL for say a week. (So to do this type of booking I need to call up and will still be able to get 15% discount on miles required for US$100 for the whole booking or is it per pax?)

Same for the return I presume?

Thanks,
K.

Yes you can add the stopover for US$100 per stopover per person. [You can even add two stopovers on routes where there are 3 sectors eg SYD-SIN-FRA-JFK, SYD-SIN-NRT-LAX)

For more info, see Cruiser Elite's post #96 below

Thanks. So if it's 3 of us it will be US$300 ?? Hmm I wonder maybe I should just fly to sin and get cheap tickets to kul might work out cheaper?

You are forgetting the extra fuel surcharge and the departure tax ex-SIN, so looking at in total an extra $210-15 AUD per passenger, you could certainly get a fare on anyone but SQ/MI for way cheaper than this (choices are MH, Air Asia, Jetstar Asia, Tiger).

Thanks. Actually I may not have a choice as I can't find availability if I did a dummy booking syd-sin vv. if I did syd-kul vv it shows up....

Just recently I was searching for some fares SIN - Phonm Pehn. I used skyscanner to identify some options then booked directly with 3K & Tiger. The prices were quite dynamic.

Hi All,

Will SQ agents happily let us book saver J awards this way with minimal points required with the US$100 stopover charge? i.e. 46750 sq miles for the entire award.

One way J saver, with stopover in SIN
SYD-SIN-HKG (online showing available if booked separately i.e. SYD-SINx SIN-HKG) but not available if booking all in one go: SYD-SIN-HKG

Thanks,
K.

as always, it might tale a couple of calls to find the right agent but it has been done and I think available as an option.

Enjoy the journey

Thanks Albatross. Will try and get A380s for all legs. Are the 777-300 any good on those legs? J saver, me,wife and a 5 year old.

k3nnis try calling KF but almost certainly the answer will be NO - there is indeed limited availability of married / joined sectors. If it shows availability single sectors but not available married / joined sectors you are basically screwed - I have encountered this on several occasions over the journey and have never had any joy when I call them - but by all means try.

Thanks Cruiser. Honestly it is available but SYD-SIN-HKG, for the SYD-SIN sector is not showing up A380, only 777-300 but if I book it separately A380 shows up for SYD-SIN sector....

So if I have no choice I would need to go on the 777-300 in J hence my query above :)

I assume 773 will have Weber seats (Regional) in 2 2 2 config and not the bigger Diamond seats 1 2 1 config - these are fine for daytime flts but painful to try to sleep in IMHO.

Hi All,

I am looking to book 3 J award saver seats for SYD-SIN-SYD.

I looked at a few random dates way ahead like 300 days ahead but I can't find any. Has anyone ever booked 3 award J saver seats before? Is it even possible?

I booked 4 J savers on the same flights from MEL-SIN-FRA last year. I had a choice of flights on the dates I wanted and plenty of choice of dates too (booked about 8 months in advance), so at the time it didn't seem like a problem to get 4 J savers on the same flights. As others said though, there seems to be a whole lot of randomness when it comes to SQ and award availability.
