Just got the following email last night...

Besides earning Elite miles on flights with Singapore Airlines and Scoot, you can now earn Elite miles on your everyday spend and activities.

From now till 28 February 2022, accumulate Elite miles as you shop, spend and convert partner reward points to KrisFlyer miles, to count towards an upgrade to KrisFlyer Elite Silver or Gold status.

If you are a KrisFlyer co-brand* cardholder, simply charge your daily expenses to your KrisFlyer co-brand credit or debit card during this period and earn Elite miles on all your everyday spend.

Earn Elite miles as you shop, spend and convert with our KrisFlyer partners. With over 3,300 KrisFlyer partners and merchants you can earn KrisFlyer miles with, unlocking status credits has never been easier.

Card partners include.... https://t.email.singaporeair.com/r/?id=h1d4fb07f,3474b587,342d23a7&s=M4HNTGbBHsT8GRTmfXEI2q4hUVbUAaG_2Mp3Fn7li5Y

Think I might give it a go, seeing its valid for transfers till Feb 2022!

What do others think?

Edit: full T&C's as also posted below...

Given that it's valid for transfers until 28 Feb 2022, will give me some time to observe international travel restrictions to see if it's worth it, given I've got almost 1 million miles in the Krisflyer account, including a big amount from Velocity transfer last year

In the same boat with concerns about whether I will actually get to use my existing miles before they expire. Have approx 650k between my current balance and an existing booking that is no certainty to happen. Given we only redeem them for J/F awards there isn’t really any additional benefit from status that we’d care about anyway though.

My only thought was if they do a extension on points expiry based on status

Agree, that may change things for me. Would have to any specifics to be sure though.

Full offer terms & conditions are here:

So, it looks like you could transfer the equivalent of 250,000 KrisFlyer miles from an Australian credit card (Amex, NAB, Westpac, ANZ, etc.) to KrisFlyer and you would get a year of KrisFlyer Elite Gold status, which is equivalent to Star Alliance Gold and comes with benefits on Virgin Australia. (Plus you get 250k KrisFlyer miles to spend, which is more than enough for a return J ticket to Europe or even a Star Alliance RTW J ticket.)

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. But since this promo is running until February 2022, might as well wait and transfer points to KrisFlyer once the borders open up.

KF Silver and Gold can pay to extend miles for 12 months (instead of 6) ..

So 3 years expiry + 1 year extension + 11 months forward booking window (+ another 11 months if you're lucky with a ticket reissue) = almost 6 years to fly after transferring the miles !
interesting point - hadn't thought of that

Shame you can't earn PPS off this... but then again, that would be the equivalent of 2.5 million AMEX points if starting from zero!

if only! it would be within reach for a lot of people here I'm sure

I didn't consider it before, but that's only what, a cool million $ spend to a Centurion card holder, I guess. Though it can be fun to dream, I guess anyone with that many points, probably can afford to simply fly F in the first place, so buying status would be a bit trivial. Extending status, as the offer allows, probably more appropriate if you already have it.

@samh004 I'm points rich but cash poor ;-)

also good to see that you can transfer from multiple banks to get to the limit, however 10,000 KF miles per bank transfer minimum is needed

That's going to help me a lot - I can use dragon and I think diners to offload some points that would've gone to KF in any case and preserve my AMEX points

I am now seriously considering this as I have enough MR points to easily get 250000 KF miles. As well I have reduced my account dramatically with 4 J saver awards between BNE and SIN.Two F saver awards SIN-FRA,4 J saver awards on the 380 between SIN and LHR and last 2 J saver awards HND-SIN.
First flight not until March so will transfer just before the promotion ends.
