SQ Redemption Waitlists - Keep Trying!

That is a pretty personal call. Because we don't do any business on the arrival day at an end destination I would suck it up and become a food and drink tester in the First lounge.
If 18.5k points are coming out of a near empty points barrel then it might pay you to use an hour in that First lounge making a fresh million or two points (made easier with champagne glass in hand for enhancing your natural brilliance).

SQ comes through again - have had SQ227 SIN-MEL on June 10 waitlisted in J for a week or so and it confirmed overnight - 11 days prior to flight - god I love SQ.

But here is my dilemna - already have F Saver confirmed for June 10 with 5+ hours in F lounge - do I cancel F and take the J saving 18.5K pts - or do I stick with the F and and endure a few hours in Private Room?

Decisions decisions - cove? Dajop? kpc? Alby? Penegal? Looking for opinions from you learned gentlemen?

18.5K points is not much really.
Stick with F and eat thru the menu in TPR, even ask for something not on the menu.
Then drain the F cabin of all Krug & DP.

F is F is F.

Yes that is my intention - 18.5K pts is way worth 5 hrs in F / TPR.

Coupla points on the Krug / Dom offerings in F on SQ:

1. Last flt MEL-PEK / PEK-MEL Krug on all 4 sectors in 375ml botts - FA said supplied mostly this way - last glass just as perfect as first from smaller botts.

2. FA also told me that if pax try Krug then Dom - or vice versa - in succesion - almpst 100% females will say they prefer Dom - almost 100% males will choose Krug - guess that makes me male huh.

IMHO only drawback to F over J then over Y is that F always get the lets say more mature FA's - read that as nowhere near as stunning as the younger ones up back - I seriously love flirting with the Singapore girls.

What are the aircraft types / routes / times of day?

But for such a small points cost, I would generally fly F...

I was feeling left out with all this talk of F flying.

Was booked on the A340-500 SIN-EWR for this Sunday. Just for giggles I checked F availability - now booked in F Suites on the A380 SIN-JFK for standard points... Obviously not as good a deal as Saver awards - but still comparable to F redemption on QF/CX....and hey, it's one of those things you gotta do :P

Not sure what the story is with Suites becoming available for redemption - seems to be very hit and miss....Maybe SQ are opening them up close to departure time if they have low loads.

Peter that should be a lot of fun. You won't feel left out now!
Will it be the Krug or the Dom sir?

Penegal J opened up on 380 - but F confirmed on 777-300 - and extra hrs in F lounge so it's a no brainer.

Yeah, as long as it is a re-fitted 77A, which it should be on that route... ^
