I did see in the T&Cs that BPay transaction either are eligible for the minium $5k spend or aren't eligible for points period so worth checking.
I avoid BPay where possible. Most accounts I have to pay present a phone or internet option as well as BPay, so I'll take the extra few minutes to pay that way to avoid any possible loss of points (speaking as a graduate from the "School of Stupid Errors").

Applied last week. Supplied the requested payslips straight away. Six days latter they send me an email now asking for my bank statements for the last 3 months. Would have been happy to do this at time of application but was never asked for them.

UPDATE: SMS and email late today to tell me all is good. Card will be sent to local branch within the next 5 days.

Noted this on the "proper" St George page:
"*$0 annual card fee promotion: The first year annual card fee waiver is available when you apply for a new Vertigo or Amplify credit card between 23rd November 2017 and 18th April 2018, and make your first purchase within 12 months of card approval. The first annual card fee will be debited on the 12 month anniversary of the first transaction on your account and annually thereafter".

Thanks for posting. I wonder if could be QF points? I know someone who will only apply for free cards on QF. o_O

You can select either Amplify Rewards or QF points during the application process. You can switch back and forth from one to the other using their web app.

(I first applied for this card on 20/11/2017, so will get only 60k points and no first annual fee waiver. Still I've earned over 100k points in ATO that I wouldn't have otherwise.)

But the link you provide shows fees associated for every card with bonus points attached to it. Eg:

Amplify Platinum = $99 fee
Amplify Signature = $279 fee

Amplify card = $0 fee. But NO bonus points.

This thread is about a bonus point offering for a reduced fee. Not an offer for a fee free card with no bonus points.

If anyone is looking for the bonus points at the reduced fee I'd encourage them to use the original link I provided. If they use the link you have provided they will pay the full fee.

A reminder that the offer ends March 22.

Also these cards appear to be for the Stgeorge points programme, not for QFF points.

Just started a dummy application from that page: On the very first page of application........

This. The only card with a fee free first year is the base card.

My mistake, sorry - I read "Asterisk Special Offer" in green across each type of card as being applicable to the $0 promotion.

Contracts can be difficult to decipher at the best of times. In this instance the '^' symbol which gives a zero fee is critical as it only applies to the no bonus point card.

I applied on Monday and received the card in the mail today. I understood that the annual fee was $139 in the first year then increases to $279 in future years. However the schedules that were in the welcome pack seem to indicate that the ongoing fee is also $139 (amount charged on the anniversary of the first transaction). Will be interesting to see what gets charged next year (if I keep it that long).

Gee wiz, that's fast. I applied last Friday and I'm still waiting for the plastic to arrive (though I am in Canberra which could explain the tardiness). The welcome pack came through on Wednesday which went straight to compost. I plan to keep the card no longer than when the points roll in. At .75 pp$, it's not economical for me to keep it.

Agree that it's not a card to keep. I will be churning as quickly as possible.

I’m in Canberra too. Bit surprised the card came in mail as people here say theirs were delivered to branch. Maybe because I’m an existing St George customer so don’t have to verify identity.

I didn't realise the cards were sent to branches. Serves me right for binning the paperwork so quickly. That said, I'm in no rush for the 90 day clock to start ticking so I'll wait another week before looking to chase the card up.

Didn't know?

During the application process for me it asked me to nominate a branch for collection.

It's ringing a feint bell now that you've mentioned it. I don't recall ever having to collect a card from a branch in the 4 years I've been churning. Oh well, I'll give them a call next week. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
