Credit Card Offers St.George Amplify Signature: 150,000 bonus Amplify Points (expires 30/4/25)

Have St George ever offered any bonus points? Just wondering if I should hold out or just transfer across
I would also like to know this.
If there are regular bonuses for transferring; is it only to Velocity or for KrisFlyer as well?

Another question; I've read that you don't have to transfer your points while the card is still open/active and that you have up to 90 days after closing the card - can anyone confirm this?

Regular bonuses only for transferring to Velocity. KrisFlyer has only ever offered transfer bonuses during Covid and immediately followed up by devaluing their points by about the 15% that the bonus had been.

Thank you for your response @Mr H. So, there's no point hanging out waiting for a KrisFlyer bonus - good to know.

With regards to the 90-day question - are you able to confirm or deny this?

The question of the 90 days will be in the terms and conditions. I have had so many cards that I can’t remember for this one. I would always use the points before closing the card.

As for whether there is any point in holding out for bonuses, that is a personal choice but I wouldn’t. I just take what of in offer at any given moment. Occasionally you find you missed a good offer that was in the pipeline but at other times you just get in before offers are reduced. But there is no way to see into the future.

Both of those points make sense. Thank you.

Just received a letter from St George advising that the kris conversion rate is changing to 3 to 1 (from 2 to 1)

That's disappointing - since so many cards have nerfed their sign up bonuses the St George offer was one of the best. I see they are also increasing their annual fees and introducing a Qantas fee for Qantas cards.

Disappointing to hear this. Glad to have churned this one recently though and not have it as an option to consider for a while.

Just had my first CC rejection and it was for this card. My fault really, I got greedy and impatient. I have 5 lines of credit open and a car loan. Should've waited until I close out 3 cards I've churned. But I've used them all for various purchases whilst on holiday so I don't want to cancel until I'm back in Aus. Oh well, I'll apply again in 3 months after I've cancelled some older cards

I applied for this card in March. My 150,000 bonus points were due to be paid in July (‘The bonus Amplify Points will be added to your points balance within 12 weeks of the eligible spend criteria being met’). They weren't awarded. I was OS until September and didn't follow up until I returned to Australia. I lodged a complaint and 10 days later the missing bonus points are in my accont and the $279 annual fee has been refunded (even though I only paid a $199 reduced first year annual fee). Card now cancelled.

If it wasn't for me being OS and relying upon the travel insurance for this card I would have followed up sooner. But nice to have 150,000 points for $80 in my favour and the benefit of the travel insurance - which as I was OS for 3 months would have been $1000+ for the annual policy.

Anyone with a data point on how Sniip transactions are classified with respect to sign-up bonuses and "eligible transactions"?

Terms are vague (my bolding):

+ Eligible purchases do not include interest, fees and charges, cash or ATM cash advances, cash equivalent transactions, gambling transactions, a purchase from or payment to a local, state or federal government related agency, BPAY or similar transactions (such as Post Billpay), refunds and balance transfer debited to the card account.

In the Dragon app, my Sniip transaction has been classified as "Bills and payments".

Any data point / past experience appreciated.
I can confirm that these count.

Sounds like a win!

Strange they took so long to post the bonus points. I had mine within 24hrs of meeting minimum spend.

On a different note , did anyone use the complimentary Visa concierge service that comes with the Amplify Signature card ?

Can someone please suggest when can I expect the bonus points awarded for Signature card if I have met the spend criteria before the billing date. Will it be in immediate statement or is there any lag in posting of the points. ta

I'm still using this card as my backup when Amex isn't accept/surcharge too high.

I need to raise the credit limit, how hard is the process with St George ?

The current offer on this card is still 150,000 Amplify points. You'd need to spend at least $12,000 on purchases within the first 12 months. This offer expires 30 April 2025.

Annual card fee is now $295, reduced to $199 in the first year (or $99 for current St.George customers).

Note that the sign-up offer is only available to people who haven't had an Amplify credit card in the last 24 months (previously 12 months). Here are the T&Cs from the bank website:

Existing customers who currently hold an Amplify, Amplify Platinum or Amplify Signature card issued by St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA, or who have held one in the last 24 months, or Credit Card Product Switches, upgrades or Westpac group staff are not eligible for this offer. The bonus Amplify Points will be added to your points balance within 12 weeks of the eligible spend criteria being met.
