Apologies if this has been covered - I couldn't find anything.

When did Starclass become Jetstar Business Class? Their TV ads now call it Business Class. Did I miss something? Or is this the start of the end - if you know what I mean!

JB

It's been half a year or so now. I remember back in May I was travelling to SIN on a StarClass flight but then a week later it had been changed to Business Class. It was when they changed their structure with Starter, Starter Plus, Starter Max, Business, and Business Max fares.

Thanks.

I'm 64 so I figured I'd nodded off for a Poppy Nap.

Don't feel too bad, as I see it all that's changed is the name and making the discount fares way more expensive without lounge access or points and status credits included.

....of cheap JQ Business Class fares (that earn points and SC's), l think so....

(From memory - Some members have reported that even during a JQ J Class sale/promo, once you add some items onto the ticket (Points/SC's), the ticket price jumps back up to normal levels.)

Just used JQ Business (Starclass) SYD/HNL/SYD, not really business class (J), seat is leather and wider than Y, slightly more room to seat in front, its more like premium economy, meals OK on way to Honolulu but excellent on return for some reason, service good but FA's not friendly at all.

On return booked bulkhead seats, then had lots of room, feet could just touch wall in front, seats only incline a bit so do not lay flat. Airbus very old, worn and noisy, used our Bose Comfort 15 noise cancelling headphones most of the time watched our movies on our iPad, flight time each way approx. 10 hours.

Purchased full tilt J tickets with QFF Status and flying points, tickets were on special few months back, paid $2150 return (each), so compared to other airlines thought deal was good one.

In the scheme of things the 330's are about the same age as the QF 333's. If EBA is the oldest, it is just shy of 10. JQ have two J products, one being the millennium in leather and one being the newest QF domestic J product.
In current standards it is more a premium product, but going by old product handbooks it would have been suffice for J in the early nineties.

Yep,

Currently on a sale you can book CNS-KIX return in Business for $980 - if you want points/SC's/lounge access/"Refundability" you can add 'Max' bundles at $350 e/w to make it $1680.

Without the sale it's $1280, to add the 'Max' bundles, it's $200 e/w to again make it $1680.

Either way, the J class on JQ is reflective of what was the domestic J class offering of the time. The millenium seats were the dometic J offering (still is in the 767s).
